That having been said, at least back in the day, "Raven" potmetal .25s were considered by some knowledgeable folk to be less shitty than most cast potmetal .25s. If you keep it clean and lubed it will actually probably cycle, at least if you feed it good quality roundnose FMJ ammo, and it will probably not blow up in your hand. I am not making any claims about accuracy, or about the adequacy of the cartridge--but at least these are (or were, in the 70s and 80s) regarded as more reliable than you'd expect.

As for the cartridge, I guess a .25 is better than fingernails or harsh language, but I make no promises about by how much.

In this type of gun, yes. In a proper .25 ACP handgun, one can utilize proper euro-style or better loadings, far above the WWB trash people shot out of these SNS to create the myth of .25 ACP just delivering a headache.

Why? This is literally the perfect carry weapon. It's small and easy to conceal and if it gets taken for evidence I won't care.
25 ACP is plenty powerful. My gun is super accurate, too. I've shot it out to 50 yards.

I used to work for Highway Patrol in my state. They weren't evidence, just found guns. Two of them have a nickel-ish finish and I saw them glinting late at night, one was just total dumb luck.

Drop guns, burners, throw down guns. It was always a running joke with the damn things and I think that's why everybody kept one in the back of their gun safe, aside from being able to tell everyone how shitty it is.

The knife. It's a quick draw sheath. As I pull the knife out it opens it. It's kind of like an old school Emerson Wave. Pic related is how it sits in the sheath.

Would you want a colt 1908 or other comparable .25 in your collection? I cant help but think it would be a fun piece to bring to a range, and .25 takes like 1.5 grain to fill so 5lbs of powder would last me forever

OP I'd buy a box or two of .25 and see if it works. If it does I suppose it's better than nothing. I still wouldn't want to rely on it.

I collect Saturday night specials but I'd never count on one working when my ass in on the line. If you have no other gun I'd recommend investing in a Hi-Point C9 as an absolute minimum, but ideally a 300-500$ modern wonder nine.

Everything depends on the angle. A human skull is a complex shape and even centerfire rifle cartridges can skip off of it if the angle is just so. That having been said, .25 ACP has been known to fail in suicide attempts.

It's a box magazine fed semiauto handgun. Anyone worth shooting once is worth shooting multiple times. Also, base of the throat might make a better aiming point than the forehead, given the cartridge's lack of power and poor penetrating power against bone. The base of the throat is full of great big blood vessels, the complex bundles of nerves that control the mechanisms for both speech and swallowing, and has the spinal column right behind just a couple inches of tissue.
