/k/ is this acceptable for a new guns-fag who has been shooting his ar15 once to twice a month for the last six months? Pic related is my best grouping today at 100 yards sitting on a bench with the rifle resting on sandbags, aimpoint compm4, and geissele trigger...
Or should I kill myself now so the ammo isn't wasted on me?
Control your breathing and don't anticipate recoil.

What is the spread distance. It looks like the group is 4"-5"
>>32063820
if you told me this was standing at at 100 yards id say great job. Rested with an aimpoint and Giselle trigger that gun is wasted on you. you should have learned to shoot with irons and a average trigger first. bit late for that now just practice more.
>>32063820
could be better, i wouldnt coutn the flyier it was a mistake, but te rest is not shit..
But he most important question is ammo, what are you shooting
>>32063874
Bingo
>>32063844 this?
are you using your aimpoint on the lowest visible setting?
>>32063921
Because triggers increase accuracy.
>>32063931
pmc bronze
>>32063967
I had it one step higher than the lowest visible setting.
>>32063921
That blows me away that people manage to do this shit standing. Fuck I have a long way to go. At least it's fun and I enjoy it.
>>32063820
>>32064004
With that gun, sight and ammo that is about the best you'll get. Good job.
With a scope maybe you could get that down to 2", 1.5" on a lucky day. A good AR with a scope and ammo will do 1/2" at the best.
>>32063949
its really that low shot that opens it up, but its about acceptable. i dont like counting (or rather, discounting) "fliers" though, thats part of your group.
you can expect around 2-4" with something generic bulk ammo like pmc bronze.
i wouldnt be too worried OP, could use improvement, but we all could
>>32063921
>you should have learned to shoot with irons and a average trigger first.
>making a gun easier to shoot is bad for learning how to shoot
fucking fuddlore
>>32064035
>>32064053
Bullshit, I did this with my sks and tulammo. It's the only pic I have from sighting it in, but guns are far more accurate than people give them credit for, even with shitty ammo.
>>32064035
>>32064053
>>32063931
Thanks for the input guys. Not selling my shit just yet. And I knew that flier was my fuck up as soon as I pulled the trigger.
>>32063820
>/k/ is this acceptable for a new guns-fag who has been shooting his ar15 once to twice a month for the last six months?
no
literally the first time i ever fired a rifle was at BMNQ and my grouping was better than that
>>32064076
this isn't fuddlore specific, the same sentiment can be found in a lot of fields. and it's correct, btw.
>>32064093
100 yards? that's impressive for me.
>>32063967
above me
>>32064004
right on to your setting.
it could be ammo and the barrel heating up, you tend to get fliers after a lot of rounds.
i would say good job, stick with the basics and keep it up.
>>32063985
pulling a trigger smoothly and consistently increases accuracy. learning on a milspec means you can shoot almost anything after youve mastered it. learning on a great trigger makes you a trigger snob who sucks shit when trying other guns.
>>32063820
Excludin the flier that's just fine. ARs generally shoot 1-2MOA which looks to be about your group. People here are pricks.
>>32064112
Tbh it was a really good day, it's the only pic I've ever taken of my groupings.
>>32064126
Glad I learned milspec.
>>32064110
>Smell bullshit
>Look up Navy Bootcamp shooting qualification
>They only shoot 9mm, shotgun, AR chambered in .22
>Nothing over 20 yards
What the fuck are you smoking faggot.
>>32064198
navy dicks
>>32064093
We all know you just poked holes with the round in you hand to feel better about your shitty life choices with picking rifles.
>>32064004
Assuming your shooting with a rest under the barrel, under the stock, and you have consistent sight picture, your barrel may not like that ammo's powder charge.
I strongly recommend hand loading plus load testing if you're going to chase tight groups.
>>32064029
If you take away your one flyer, thats a pretty good group. If i had to guess it looks like youre putting too much finger into the trigger.
For standing, or really for any position, just think bone-to-bone support. Gun to fingers to wrist to elbow to hip (tuck that shit in hard) to leg to ground.
Rifle is fine.
Shooter is fine.
Stop pretending to be snipers /k/.
