Have you looked and held an x300? I understand the want for 600 lumens, but have you looked at the xc1? Big lights change the weight drastically. Ann Arbor arms should have 1 to look at, or Oakland tactical. I had bought a streamlight before I knew better and while it did reduce recoil it was also very front heavy and caused some issue with the m uzzle dropping when I drew.

You'll probably need a lot of it, but I doubt you'll have so much that you can dunk a large part entirely. I'd just get a bowl of it, dip a brush and go to town over a towel or bin. Something like a nylon barbecue brush.

The Arredondos work for me, and they're cheap, but I don't treat them roughly. If dropped, the plastic ones can pop off a fully loafed magazine, spraying clips everywhere. The aluminum ones from Taylor or TTI affix more solidly.
