What is the biggest innovation in all of small arms since the year 2000?
>>32046351
Telescoped ammunition.
Slight increase in weight, massive increase in firepower
>>32046364
Been around since the 70s. Pretty funny how long it takes for DoD funded engineers to catch up.
>>32046351
Non-specific: Optics.
>>32046401
Aimpoints exists since the 80's, maybe even before...
>>32046364
This would be a terrible idea for the sole fact people would old those rounds in backwards.
>>32046434
Load
>>32046434
Pretty sure you can color code it for the retard crowd.
>>32046424
Optics were a thing once someone noticed that by making a small hole you can focus light and isolate your target. What is new is low power holographic sights being standard for the average infantryman.
By all metrics telescoping ammunition is about as revolutionary as nuclear artillery in that it isn't going to happen anytime soon or tested beyond small experiments.
>>32046424
Fine then. Integrated ballistic computers, or air burst munitions
>>32046434
>>32046455
>>32046364
Biggest problem I see with the telescoped rounds is it'll be a pain in the ass to reload mags unless they have some hard plastic sleeves like the G11 caseless rounds came in.
Has there been any news on that guided bullet that made the news awhile back?
>>32046424
The technology is even older than that:

And frankly, probably the most recent and practical innovation in small arms is synthetic furniture (and better metallurgy, but that's less obvious), and that's still a half century old. But nearly all modern firearms could have been built a century ago.
>>32046351
pmags
>>32046489
how is it more difficult than regular rounds?
>>32046980
They won't work with regular clips. US military and most other militaries issue rounds preloaded on stripper clips with a little stamped steel load guide to quickly load their magazines.
>>32047017
>a little stamped steel load guide to quickly load their magazines.
Dear Lord those are often TERRIBLE.
RIP rounds
>>32047058
Still beats single loading 10-12 magazines.
>>32047058
Those I got were plastic, they work fine.
>>32047096
yea
>>32047017
ah I get ya. There is a "rim" of sorts on the front of those telescoped cartridges, that could probably used for stripper clips
>>32047089
this
its the last round youll ever need
>>32046487
>what's the '90s?
>>32047572
>Integrated ballistic computers
>90's
Apply yourself anon.
>>32046351
My dick grew an extra 10 inches that year. No joke. I kill women if i go in to far.
Not lyibg guys, its true.

The Glock 43
