Manurhin MR22 Match
Colt Python 6´´

I´m planning on getting an older S&W 29 with a 8 3/8´´ barrel, a regular MR73 in 4 inches (maybe a 6´´ match variant later). I´m also looking into things like a Colt Anaconda, Single Action Revolvers, Big Bore stuff, snubbies and all that good shit. My country kinda limits how many handguns I can buy per year so I have to pace myself. Good thing I´m somewhat of a poorfag anyway.

Nope belgian Warnant revolver, belgian gunsmith from the 1880ies that was obsessed with top break and early centerfire revolvers
made a top break with a front locking system the was later reused in the webley pryse and webley green 455 pistol and later.
most of this later designs where copies of yje s&w No3 top break with the double action and indexing of a webley RIC /bulldog

Those later guns are found in 320 (32short colt) 380revolver/british (38short colt) for small frame
and larger frame where up to .44 russian/10.6reichrevolver and 11mm1873 french
there are version in 44-40 but they are known to be weak and its a issue on real 1889 s&w Da and modern ubertis as well.

mine is firing .44 21gr swiss bp loads with flat nosed 246gr bullet.

Oh cool I use to be really curious about those 455 webleys since they were so popular in their time, that thing is in amazing condition that seriously over a hundred years old or is it a reproduction?

I like those big heavy older style bullets something about smaller faster ones just makes my hair stand on edge about how small and light they are I don't trust mine as much as my bigger cal. (Handguns at least, rifles is a different story)

Very cool piece.

44mag is more common as a big/dangerous game sidearm. 357 would work too, but you'd probably want to be more precise with shot placement.
If I were to go out hunting for the game you've suggested, i'd pack a 44mag, but go with what you're comfortable with. you're in better hands if you can reliably operate a 357 than if you flinch/yank with a 44 in anticipation of the recoil

Are revolvers even relevant anymore in regards to open/concealed/home defense? I mean yes .357 and .44 rounds are bound to fucking destroy whatever they hit, but 5-6 rounds of MEGA fuck you compared to 13-15 of standard 9mm in a semi auto handgun. I love how revolvers look but are they just show pieces now?

Some people rely on revolvers as a secondary for hunting I know as it can stop large animals. But would the rapid fire capability and 10+ rounds of 9mm or .40/.45 do the same thing?

not necessarily.
the name of the game for large game is penetration.. a bullet with significant mass moving very quickly (like .44mag) is more effective for dropping bigger game than, say, .45 auto
>>
>>32035056

It's more important to carry what you like, is comfortable, and which you are competent with than anything else.

You're right about capacity, but the odds of it actually mattering are very low.

:( I'm giving my honest opinion about revolvers. Other than large caliber, the downsides seem like a bother when you consider the upsides of a semi auto.

By "ironic" I was hinting at that possibility that some may CC or OC a revolver for "fashion" reasons.

And I honestly thought hollowpoints were/are illegal. It seems they are (to carry) and have to be pre-approved for a specific use.

>Cause if they weren't those things would fuck up a bear without a 2nd thought right?
well, again, the ideal load will produce max penetration, so hollow-points (which dump their kinetic energy quickly) generally dont penetrate as deeply as a hard-cast lead bullet, for example

>Are revolvers even relevant anymore in regards to open/concealed/home defense?

The advantage that revolvers have is at the extreme ends of the size spectrum. Small revolvers like the J-frames are better mouse guns than the majority of semi-auto offerings on the market today in terms of both power and reliability. Large revolvers like the Smith and Wesson 460 or 500 are among the most powerful production handguns in the world and far outclass any standard production semi-auto handgun in power.

Medium revolvers are the big losers in the calculus of "what does this bring to the table that a semi-auto does not," unless you count being cool, aesthetic, and having some of the best protection from depreciation among used firearms as an advantage.

For a first revolver look for a S&W 19, 586, 66, or 686, or a Ruger Security Six or GP100.
4" barrel.

why should I get the -6 and why should it have a 5" barrel? That Hillary hole tho..

Best one I've ever fired and I had my hand on quite a few.

Why not a 6" barrel?
>>
I've had a Ruger Match Champion and a SW500 6.5" before. Kind of wanting to get a 329pd at some point, but the whole 'long as hell' double action trigger has put me off from revolvers

After reading this post, I think we can all agree that you should use the nearest available firearm to end your own life. Fucking mouth breather.

I have been shilling this gun and bitching about how bad i want to buy it some friends for like 2 months

i have the model 60 PC. very quality. wanted it as a conceal carry, revolver fanboy but i wanted some barrel length and not a snub. very accurate.

what i truly wanted was the 627, 8 shots in a 5inch barrel, my perfect handgun really. i ended up with its baby brother.

now ive got a hardon for the 629 PC. the granpappy of the stupid hillary hold wedge barreled s&ws. and also what i would reccomend to this anon

>>32032570 its a big 7in barrel but I've been seeing it at about $1000 everywhere, and the PC models usually cost about $150, so im suprised you are having trouble. this is also my plan for innawoods OC gun so fuck it I'm going for a big ass barrel.

Well there is no reason not to want more rounds but like every time it's always "what's the best" and not "what am I confident I can I do with this".
I get it's better to have it and not need it but some people are just over the top about what condition they're in, highest alert. No safety, round in chamber, hammer cocked, It's like personally I don't do that there's times to turn it up and times to turn it down otherwise I'd probably just get complacent and it'd fall on it's own without me knowing it. If you just want to be alert high danger all the time, good for you stick with your high capacity at all times.

Just got this little guy, super old and no required FFL. Doesnt fire at the moment, but I think the only thing I need is a spring for the trigger ( trigger guard would be nice too.) Still gonna have a gunsmith check it out so I don't blow my hand off. Chambered in some sort of .32

A fucking Rohm
