My great uncle joind ww2 when the Army was tak8ng Luzon.

One dude was a airborne trooper in 'Nam, got hooked on drugs and carried it over to the states. Airborne trooper ends up as drug dealer in the 70's and 80's. One day a DEA agent or some bullshit(can't recall if actual federal agent or some state dude or whatever) had set him up, DEA agent pulled a gun but didn't say he was a federal agent so airborne trooper pulled a knife and gutted the agent like a fish. Airborne trooper got away with it because it was declared self defense as the airborne trooper thought he was going to get robbed for his money and drugs.

Another story is that another dude had served four tours in 'Nam as a door gunner and this one time he dropped a WP grenade inside a hut and watched a entire gook family burn. He recalls it as the mother running out first carrying her burning baby, trying to put the baby out as the father just screams in horror and pain cause he was burning too. The door gunner now goes to church a minimum of three times a week so he can ask for forgiveness for his sins.

Back in 1997 I was forced to kill someone who broke into my house armed with a gun. I lived in a rough area in Middledbrough in the UK at the time.

Nope, didn't get hit. He hit my car door, the car's front bumper, and the pavement in front of me. One strike on the pavement bounced up into the door, too. He got about 6 shots off. No bullet time, I just did everything I could to get my sights lined up on him as quickly as possible, then focused on not flinching when I squeezed my trigger. I had a Glock 19 loaded with Hornady Critical Duty.

I won't get too detailed about his injuries, but he has struck a few times, it was just the critical zone strikes that made him drop. I figured I hit him once in a painful spot when he flinched a bit and made a grimace, but he was still mean-mugging and aiming at me, and between my next couple of shots he did the classic movie flop and it was over. I fired about half my mag at him, and he was hit multiple times, some of the strikes being in "lol only 9mm" spots, and others in "ventilated him good" spots.

Mostly he was trying to get away, but we were in a bit of chase, and when I finally caught up to him he realized his fat, saggy-pant-wearing ass wasn't going anywhere very fast, and he figured he would have to kill me in order to get enough of a head start to disappear in some hoodrat dive house where our chase ended. So I'd say he was committed to that gunfight. He intended to kill me, and once I was dead try to keep running.

And I didn't really have too much cover. I had the car door and that front left pillar on the driver side, but that wasn't shit. The gunfight lasted a few seconds, 4 or 5, maybe.

First gunfight. Not the first time I thought I'd have to use my gun, and those times were a little scarier since I thought I saw the gunfight coming so my anus had time to pucker up and the adrenaline had time to ramp my heart up. In this case, I was fixated on the chase, and I was drawing my gun as I was getting out of the vehicle, but I guess I didn't really expect the gunfight to happen, so I didn't have time to get scared. i remember seeing a documentary where they tried to explain this phenomenon, apparently during times of fight or flight, your brain gets full priority and basically becomes "unlocked" in processing power. it was explained almost like a computer, that normally it runs off a certain level of memory, but that memory gets boosted big time for stressful events. all senses become heightened and amplified, where normally your brain filters out a lot of "white noise" in audio and visual stimulus, because otherwise it would be too much to handle all the time in regular mundane life.

the experiment they did was having a digital LCD timer clock in front of people doing sky diving for the first time or something. before jumping, the milliseconds on the clock move too rapidly to be seen as anything but a blur, but when they jumped out of the plane, they reported being able to count the actual digits on the clock and see them increasing by the miliseconds.

It really does slow down time significantly, but usually the change in brain chemistry is something that isn't initially registered.

I strongly encourage you to look into just how much work is being contracted, sub-contracted, and then sub-contracted again from the government. I worked for just over a year and only did one tandem mission with agency assets. Never met any Bureau that I knew of. Lots of prior special forces, lots people who knew the right languages and had the right skills. Lots of people with just "connections".
