I saw this video a while back and wanted to see if anyone has information on what exactly the issue with the weapon was. Does anyone know if the malfunction was caused by the weapon or the ammo? I can't find more info on it.

Video background:
British soldier volunteers to fight with YPG Peshmerga against IS/ISIS/ISIL and gets to it. Gets into firefight, weapon jams as round fails to extract.

Bad ammunition. Looks like the case splits and gets stuck in the chamber.

>Powder made with match heads and piss.
>Primer made with amputated clits of kurdish women.
>Projectile made with hardened kidney stones of dead ISIL soldiers.
>Brass made with cornstarch and sand, spraypainted gold.

Such is life in Kurdistan.

>>
>>32032033
It is very hard to imagine that jam in an M4 because nobody has ever seen an M4 jam in real life outside of a testing environment. The idea that stoner's perfect design is unreliable is a myth propagated by frustrated soviet designers and putin's shill accounts.

Rigid cleaning rods are bretty cool.
>>
>>32032456
Except an m4 doesnt have a cleaning rod on it. Youd be stuck trying to pull it out with pliers or trying to jam something between the rim of the cartridge and the chamber

>>32036197
AR owner and fan here, I don't see how he could have cleared it like you said, takedown part yes, cleaning rod no. I've never seen or heard of an AR with a cleaning rod like the AKs have. If there is something like that then tell me because I want one. Been thinking about jimmying one to on the forearm/stock like I've seen some oper8tors rubber band them. But of course if I can get a good quality premade contraption then I would prefer that to rubber bands/tape.
>>
He bought the worst quality AK he possibly could, bought the absolute worst quality magazines he possibly could, and likely bought the most garbage haji cave reloads he possibly could.

He bought the worst of everything he could and people are shocked that it didn't work out well
>>
>>32036257
The telescoping rods will do the trick, I know because I had to do this when a laser bore sight got stuck in my AR's chamber

In Nam a trick was to duct tape an Ak or even a regular steel rod to the side of the rifle for this exact purpose.
>>
>>32036423
thanks, I've got an m&p so I don't see how it would work like in nam unless I get one of the triangle forearms and drill it. But I'll certainly brainstorm it now. Thanks anon.

Thats not really "the rear position" its just hanging out and only staying in place because of gravity. If you turned it on its end to put something down the barrel and knock a piece of used brass out of the chamber, it would fall out.

Dirty chamber, Dirty Ammo, Weak case (how much ammo in the sandbox are reloads?), or some combination therein.

I'm more interested if that AK even holds zero with that UTG? scope and dust cover mount. Somalian tier accuracy.

That's an ammo issue. Something caused the round to expand more than it should have. The casing may have been improperly sized (too big or too small) or there could have been too much powder. My guess is he's using some Khyber pass reloads.

I've had that happen when I accidentally shot .380 out of a 9x19. The rounds fit but they're slightly smaller, so when the round goes off the casing expands since it's not properly seated against the chamber. It got stuck in and I had to pry it out.
>>
>>32036834

i have this exact problem. can you explain more about what you mean?
>>
Whats the best way to carry a cleaning rod? I normally use an AR platform. Just stick two sections of rod in your armor and screw it together if this comes up or what?
>>
>>32045549
Check this out >>32036600

You can also rubber band or zip tie it to the top of the forearm. I saw a stock awhile ago with the cheek part having a little slot in it that you could put a cleaning rod in if it breaks down small enough. Don't recall what it was though, been looking for it ever since, perhaps it was just a prototype or something.
>>
>>32036317
Assuming he bought it at all and it wasn't just given to him I'd agree with you
Fuck I'd atleast carry a decent multi tool and a basic cleaning kit if I went off to fight in some conscript army and then I'd buy a black market m16a4 and slap on a collapsible stock

any firefight is intense, it's a life or death situation where people are actively trying to kill each other

calling a firefight intense is redundant
