I joined at 26. Heaps of people join when they are in their mid twenties. They just tend to hate it more because they have more experience in the world and are more used to being treated like an adult. I would not recommend.

This. When you're 18-20 you're still used to being bossed around your whole life so the military life is easier. When you're going in at 25 you'll start to feel the age gap. Best to get some schooling done so you start off above the scrubs. Get an associates degree and enjoy some college pussy while you can.

Just passed selection, going in for officer board soon, some of this might help:
1) Do couch to 5k if you arent great at running much distance, over here the run is 1.5 miles and you have to do it in under 14 minutes to pass, and you have to beat your unit time, e.g for paras you need to run a 9:30
2) go in as an officer if at all possible, better pay, more responsibility, dont be a sandbag, youll have to be able to be confident or at least look it, got to have some social skills
3) a few guys who turned up quit after the first night because the shock of capture got to them; it gets very real very quick. Be sure it is what you wanna do.
4) know what role you want to do and research as much as possible; it shows motivation and if you turn up not knowing anything about the unit youre about to join you look like a right twat. And youll be doing it for a long time, including specialist training if youre going into a tech trade.

By week 2 you will easily whether you want to or not

Start a 5k or 10k program and enter some 10k charity races. Get a proper pair of running shoes, fitted from a good shop. Don't forget the socks. Never, ever, ever run with weight. Don't even train with it. Forget the gym, too. Swim and run, that's all you need. Fix the diet and keep on top of it.

If you're unemployed get used to waking up at 5am, learn how to iron and make a bed. Everything else will come naturally.

went in when i was 22 and still wanted to fucking kill everyone because they were still children. you'll feel it worse because youre older.

that being said run more, lose more weight, and you'll be fine.

if it's just about some weird sense of duty you feel you have to your country, i'll tell you what, unless you go combat arms you'll want to kill yourself every single day.

and even if you do you'll still probably want to kill yourself every single day unless you go SF.

I wanted to go SF, but decided to enlist first because I didn't think I was ready. Now I realize I was completely ready, but I can't go now because my body is completely destroyed from fourth world tier living conditions. Now all I want to do is fucking die and the only thing keeping me alive is my doggo and ylyl videos.
