I might just switch to standard pressure for the recoil mitigation, the big complaint of .40 is the snappyness of the recoil, I feel the same about 9mm +p

bought a box of these, can tell you right now theyre not gonna do much damage to anyone who isnt shirtless and close range

these things cant even go out to 100m, terrible bullet design made to get you to buy it based on "woah 2400fps"

i'd never carry this over almost 4x that mass flying at about half that speed

fill them up with lead and they might be worth something, but probably not since theyre cheap garbage loaded to fire a hollow 60gr pistol round

I really like +p ballistics regarding penetration, but again it feels like a .40 recoil wise so I feel I might as well go with .40, I like the recoil of standard pressure but the penetration falls shorter than I'd like it to be, the best standard pressure round that meets in the middle of both is Hornady's custom 147 XTP standard pressure penetrates further than most standard pressure, but I'd really 16.5 + penetration. If I could get a standard pressure 9mm hollow point that penetrates 18-20+ I'd be fucking set. Why am I such a faggot

The recoil of the .40 is exaggerated but a big factor is the pistol you used. I've used duty size 9mm's that recoiled more than my compact .40. There isn't really a +P in .40 outside of marketing and the heavier loads are weaker due to the powder they use.

The 10mm is really overkill for SD and your choice in pistols is mostly full size frames. It would be easier to pin down why you should change calibers if you had a specific use in mind. At this point if you're already comfortable with 9mm and have one there aren't any advantages to switching for basic range or SD use. Your ammo costs will just go up.

I shoot mainly .40. /k/ doesn't like it because it's not 9mm or .45. If 9mm was developed after .40, they'd hate 9mm.

Personally I wouldn't invest in .40. I got a free gun and get free .40 ammo from work but all my personal guns are 9mm. It's cheaper and performs around the same, yet typically gives you 2 or more extra rounds. If mine wasn't free, the investment just doesn't seem to be worth the extra 10% in performance, with the trade-off of less capacity.

They can, so can a pen. What he's saying is they don't have enough mass to actually do a significant amount of damage. They're a specialty round, so unless you come across an armored target they aren't going to perform decently, and even through armor they don't do much.
