If you're someone who can use armor piercing 5.7 it's very effective and massive capacity in a pistol or P90. If you're an average citizen, you don't get AP so you lose the penetration capabilities the round is capable of.

I think they meant they could just as easily do that with 10mm, .45, .40 and 9mm (in that order)
And save the few hundred dollars for the meme gun.

But I am generally interesting in knowing the benefits of a 5.7 for non-range use.

I guess capacity is good, but an M9 can match it, or anything with extended mags.

Even just practicing your reload, it doesn't take much longer than an instant if your good, heck, most decent comp shooters seem to fire continuously through the reload.

I guess 5.7 has longer range and greater accuracy?

Hydro Static Shock is real it's just doesn't occur reliably enough to rely on. I'm assuming that's what he was talking about. .40S&W and 10mm are the cartridges to do that with if that's what you're looking for. Much better to rely on multiple shots to the chest though.
