Why aren't revolving shotguns a more common thing?

I'd love to get my hands on one of these.
>>
Two words: cylinder gap
>>
>>31995686
Is this single action?
>>
>Why aren't revolving shotguns a more common thing?

cylinder gap, street sweeper laws
>>
>>31995686
Why can't we import that fucking gun!!!! REEEEE
I want that shotgun so bad, it's so pretty and nice.
>>
>>31995719
1) it's Russian.
2) it doesn't have a "sporting purpose"
3) it's cool so fuck you, can't import it.
>>
If you need more than 2 shotgun shells then whatever you're shooting at has probably already killed you.
>>
>>31995726

>Why would anyone ever need a 30-round clipazine?

Maybe I just want one because it's fucking awesome and I like weird-looking guns.
>>
>>31995746
I'm just answering the question.
>>
>>31995704
SA/DA I am pretty sure.
>>
>>31995748
there are lots of shotguns that have a capacity greater than two, you seemed to be answering a different question

I believe that is what this little plate is for.

Also OP, the closest thing you can get is probably the Rossi Circuit Judge.
>>
If you get a hangfire it is a great way to injure yourself or blow up the gun.
>>
>>31995686
I'd hunt with that. Despite having my permit for like a month only.

I'd wanna SBS it and CCW it under a big heavy coat, or OC'd inna drop leg holster like a bad ass.
>>
>>31995837
How exactly would a hangfire blow up the gun? He is shooting sealed cartridges, not black powder. There is zero chance of the other cylinders igniting. Just shut the fuck up. By your logic, all revolvers would blow up. God damn, you are a nogunz faggot or just stupid. Either way, the gene pool is better off without you.
>>
>>31995913
I'm pretty sure he means if it's double action, and you get a hangfire and pull the trigger again the hangfiring round could go off when the cylinder it's in is no longer indexed to line up with the barrel, which would destroy the gun and your support hand. Calm down.
>>
>>31995913
I think what he meant was the idea that you would pull the trigger, a round wouldn't go off, then you would index it leaving the still unfired round out of line with the barrel when the powder charge ignites.
>>
>>31995686
because they are dumb
>>
>>31995913
Do you even know what a hangfire is?
What do you think will happen when a round goes off when not in line withthe barrel?
Shut the fuck up until you understand what is being discussed.
>>
>>31995913
Also, you're aware black powder cartridges existed, and continue to exist, right?
>>
>>31995957
Faggot, a hang fire is when the god damn cartridge doesn't immediately fire. You are talking about an ignition when the cylinder isn't in line with the barrel. Get your fucking facts straight. Stop trying to defend your blatant nogunz faggotry
>>
>>31995970
The old revolving cylinder rifles were like the old revolvers in that you had to cover the ends of the cylinder with grease to inhibit a stray spark from igniting other cylinders. It has nothing to do with black powder cartridges.
>>
>>31996022
Are you really this retarded? This has to be a troll.

What do you think happens when you pull the trigger on a DA revolver?

>>31996035
If you're talking the civil war era experimental ones, those didn't use bp cartridges. They were muzzle loaders. A black powder metallic cartridge won't go off because of a spark and there's no danger of them chain firing. What the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>31995911

this
>>
Because laws prohibit cylinder/revolving shotguns
The only reason why the Circuit Judge shotgun is allowed to be imported is because it has a rifled barrel that cannot be easily removed/replaced with a smoothbore and cannot easily have its stock removed

It's imported as a .45LC rifle that can coincidentally fire .410 shotshells. If it was a straight out smoothbore shotgun, it would be illegal for import

There is also very little demand for these types of guns, and in addition, they would hold less shots AND be more expensive than a pump shotgun
>>
>>31995686
They're considered a DD.

They would have a niche as an SBS , as short as you want and 6 shots compared to the 3 of a super shorty or the more bulky 5 of a mag fed and all without the need to pump or have a gas system that short.

Also the only thing banned is 'nonsporting' guns, you have the edge lords at Cobra to thank for that.

The revolving carbine and shotgun died when other forms of better repeaters came about.

Now it's a novelty thing because they're not nearly as well established as other firearms.

If i had some particular boner over one i'd get it, but it holds no advantage over pump or semi auto shotguns. hence why they took over the market.
>>
Has anyone mentioned the SRM 1216 yet?
>>
>>31998394
If the SBS or combat shotgun fad came just a little sooner I think they would have been popular they are less stupid than box mags at least, I can imagine a timeline where tunnel rats would have not been able to get enough of them.

Actually I would imagine a swing out, cut down 12 gauge would be a hit in WW1 as a trench clearer, even without chargers.

>>31998645
6 o'clock top breaks would be ideal if they were still a thing because the force would be pushing straight back into the frame and not the hinge.

I own a shotgun with a 5.5" barrel myself
it's in .28 gauge and pretty fun to shoot

imaginating something that short in .12 gauge makes my dick hard, but I do not want to imagine the kick of such a thing
>>
>>31995686
cost

takes a lot of fine machining to get the cambers to seal.

pumpies are dog simple to make.
>>
>>31998706
A range used to rent out thier nfa coach gun and it wasn't that bad, 12 gauge is pretty low pressure so it kind of shoved hard instead of kicking the weight of the gun itself allowed for one handed firing with discomfort but a manageable amount . Though this was with standard buck and bird shot, firing 3 inch magnums would probably smart.

FUCK the ct (and ma) AWB. Can't have nice things like revolver shotguns.
>>
>>31995723
But it's almost entirely identical to other sporting shotguns, it just has a different action.
>>
>>32000094
The people who control the imports can pretty much do whatever they please. There's supposedly a bunch of Korean war M1 Garands sitting in limbo because customs won't clear the shipment.
>>
>>32000461

All but a handful of those Garands are literally too fucked up to salvage. The CMP went over to inspect them and only a tiny handful were even good for parts because Best Korea used them hard, poorly maintained them, and then welded most of them up as deactivated drill rifles for their version of ROTC.

Also, CA laws even ban revolvers with long .45LC chambers because they can potentially chamber a .410. MUH CHILLUNS ASALT WEPPAN BAN BAN BAN.

Please based Trump, if you do anything, save us from the libtards. I want to see them scream and wither from your new SCOTUS, and for us to have our clipazines and pistol grips back.
