Are these Cold Steel Fiber glass reinforced plastic knives not detectable by metal detectors? Because that shit is a public hazard...
>>
>reinforced
Probably has metal in it. Or at least enough metal to be found by detectors used in courthouses or airports.
>>
>>31989705
Did you know that people used to wood or stone to kill 350lb animals? If you got a nice obsidian spearhead you could reshape it into a push dagger. It would be better than that thing, too.

>warband of Sioux indians hijack a 747 with clubs, spears, flint knives, slings and bows and arrows

i can dig it
>>
>>31989705
Plastic "letter openers" have been a thing since 80's tactical magazines.

Are they really a hazard? Show me some cases where theyve been used in a restricted area.
>>
>>31989705
is that a butt plug?
>>
>>31989705
Never really though about non-metal knives

My dad told me he once sharpened a piece of malachite into an edge and crudely wrapped a stick to it, wonder how far the applications go.
>>
>>31989812
Yeah. Obsidian sword/dagger. Super sharp, undetectable, but fragile.
>>
>>31989922
ceramic knives are a relatively new fad in cooking, so I guess OP could check those out.
>>
>hurr durr
They use density detectors now
>>
>>31989967
>density detectors
lmao thats not even a real thing idiort.
>>
>>31989910
yes, if you're brave enough
>>
>>31989705
That's why most airports have x-ray/millimeter wave radar detectors. If it's on your person, the machine will almost certainly see it, and then it's up to the fuck wad working to feel it up and take it from you.

If you put it through the the baggage scanner, they will be able to see the 3D shape of the blade and will search your bag.

What if you strapped it to the bottom of your foot, so it laid flat? Could those full body scanners see it?

They pass through metal detectors with ease. How do I know? Had one of these on me when I went to the court house. Just like my tactical pen, they didn't even question. The spike they didn't even see it.

Just take that metal ring out of it.
>>
>>31989705
This
>>31991226

The only metal is that split ring on the handle. If you are going through a regular ol' metal detector without that keyring it is just a piece of plastic. If you are going through a scanner or putting it through an x-ray it will be visible and you will get buttraped for it... Possibly with it.

I'm not going to call you retarded, but I guess you haven't been on a plane lately.

You take your shoes off.
>>
>>31992205
In Australia you don't need to take your shoes off.
>>
>>31992297
My mistake, I didn't know that.

11/9 didn't do too much to you guys?
>>
>>31992313
The kebabs are on the other side of the world so we don't really need to worry. Also, it wasn't us who pissed them off.
>>
>>31992333
You got me there, but I hear they're wanting to come your way, aren't they?
>>
>>31992352
They have tried to many times. Our ASIO (Australian NSA) are actually pretty good at their job.
>>
I wonder how many people the TSA busts yearly for shoving large dildos up their asses?
>>
>>31990103
what do you think the xray booths in the airport are?

reminder that every one of you fuckers should be opting out of the body scan every time you get on a plan.
>>
>>31989812
I'm picturing cavemen hijacking a plane, but they carry ak-47s now.
>>
>>31992505
They were giving me shit about that once so I bullshit that I was told to by my doctor. Their tone changed immediately and they mentioned that I should make sure my seat was as far from the doors and windows as possible. According to them a person gets more radiation from the flight than from the scan by quite a bit, and moreso if near a window or door, but who knows.

>>31989812
If you had something that could quickly be sharpened you could make a knife in the bathroom.

Of course the pilots have guns now and the odds are between them and an Air Marshal you'd get ventilated anyways.
>>
>>31992841
i just do it for the cheap thrills of getting felt up by the tsa

>glass fiber reinforced
No metal in there you retardomatic.
>>
>>31989705
Watch the x-ray the next time you go through security (or just google image search some pictures); plastic, cloth, ceramic, etc shows up on x-ray, metal is just a lot more contrasting.

Case in point:
>>
>>31992841
You just made up the bit about pilots being armed for the (you)s. Armed pilots would make it easier for lone wolf suicides to happen
>>
>>31995269
You could fool this by having a knife face edge up to the camera. It would just look like a thin line.
>>
>>31992764
Isn't that basically a Muslim?

The good news is that every time obisidian cracks it leaves another sharp edge to work with.
The bad news is that after 4 or 5 shatterings you're basically down to pen knife length.
>>
>>31992841
>If you had something that could quickly be sharpened you could make a knife in the bathroom.
You might want to look into stone knapping. Theoretically, it means you've always got a knife on you although in practice it's only good for innawoods survival.
>>
>>31992466
that rays in airport are they dangeourous for people? Who works there for a long time let's say, guards and personnel?
>>
>>31992466
Beg pardon?

I imagine they're not spraying you with straight up gamma radiation but what brand of wavelength are we talking here?
>>
>>31995743
Generally, the radiation is contained in the machine. The flaps and casings should be lined with lead.

However, there's a good reason they don't put people through that thing.
>>31990103
That's basically an X-ray machine
