Sig has made questionable guns like the P290, P224 and P227 but as of recently, the Legion series and the P320 are actually really good. You can even throw in the MPX in there as well.

Sig Sauer sucks. I bought a Sig Ar15 (m400) without really researching it. I just assumed sig sauer = quality. Boy was I wrong.

It has been sent back to the factory for repair work 3 times. The first time it came back they didnt re-install my hammer properly. The pin wasnt in the hole and the hammer was crooked. The 2nd time it came back, they forgot to tighten the castle nut or stake it. I got it back with the castle nut completely loose. This is how the factory is sending it back to me. I will never own a sig sauer again.

I bought another AR15 (wont name the brand, similar in price though) and it absoutley kicks the shit out of the Sig M400.

Plus the accuracy sucked with the Sig. Yes, I know how to adjust the iron sights. I tried several different brands and styles. I used cheap Federal American Eagle stuff, to high end Black Hills and Hornady ammo and everything intbetween and NOTHING grouped well. I even had the gun tight in a caldwell sled. It just grouped like trash.

The other AR i bought, its a consistent sub moa gun with Federal American Eagle 55gr ball

Well I'll go ahead and explain why it matters. Bore axis height plays into effect regarding how much leverage the recoil has to against your grip in terms of muzzle flip. SIG is able to counter this effect relatively effectively with the beavertail added to the gun but it shouldn't be necessary and makes the gun less comfortable to carry. Other guns, like the Steyr for example, have an extremely low bore axis and do a better job of staying on target when firing in rapid or semi-rapid succession as might be done in a self defense situation.

That's why bore axis is relevant. More to the point, is that there is NO reason for a striker fired gun to have a high bore axis. It's simply an inferior aspect to the 320 leftover as a vestigial defect they were too cheap to fix.

You can watch this and decide for yourself. For the price, it's probably pretty good ammo but it can over expand and not penetrate as much as it sometimes does. The issue for me is that it's inconsistent, I don't like that. The velocity is considerably less than advertised. SIG had a misprint and decided to just sell through it; think that's pretty shitty if not straight up fraudulent.

dont buy a new sig. find an older one if you can. Sig has cheaper mags and more aftermarket support.

The VP9 is without question a superior handgun, but damn if their mags aren't expensive. Not to mention there is almost no aftermarket support for them and good holsters are hard to find.

I would say get a hammer fired HK but the triggers are shit. IMO HK makes the best barrels in the world, cold hammer forged, excellent polygonal rifling and fully supported chambers. You could not get a better barrel than an HK.
However, their triggers, at least the variant 3 (DA/SA) and LEM are rather garbage. The vp9 actually fixes that but it's done very poorly in torture tests.

I'm not sure if the barrel is ported, might just be the slide. They do that to cut weight of moving parts, keeps gun on target better.
