AR's can be assembled with everyday tools. I put mine together with a rubber mallet, a few screwdrivers, and my bare hands. Thats not really possible with an FAL. If you start ordering everything now, you might have most of your tools and parts by then, but I doubt you'll have it assembled by then.

What do you use to work on manual raw? Because if it is MS paint then how does that work? I only use paint to do quick cuts to images or shit like that. I'd just get a kit build from someone on the files but as I'm looking for a Para FAL with an 18 inch barrel, it's a bit harder to find.

Before the panic buying started, it was easy to find more of a variety of in-stock DSA FALs from online sellers and for $200-$400 cheaper than DSA themselves. I'm waiting until the market recovers some and I can get a 18" para for $1500ish instead of the $2000 DSA wants.

Break-in cleaning is mostly a myth. Even for precision rifles its debatable whether or not it matters. I do it on those for like 25 shots to be safe though if it's a factory barrel.

Run a cleaning brush through your FAL to make sure there aren't any obvious flaws from the rifling that will get smashed in when you put rounds through. Then just clean like a regular barrel with solvent and some oil to get the factory residue out.

250 rounds of break-in cleaning is fucking retarded. They just want you to put that many rounds through it before you send it back if it's giving you any hiccups.

Conservation Officers responded to a noise complaint on Saturday, just had us park on one side of the road in case a Firetruck needed to get through then they left.

What distance should I zero 147gr .308 FMJ to have it shoot relatively flat out to 200 or 250 yards?
I want to be able to plink at 50 yards or less but still want to hit the lethal area in an Elk out to 250 yards.

I've heard of people zeroing .270 at 26 yards and being able to aim dead on out to 280 yards without missing above or below 2.5" within that distance.

I was not able to find it for that price, best I could find was a used one for a little under 4k. If I could find it new for MSRP I would have opted for the SCAR but alas all the gun store near me and the ones I contacted in CA do not have any in stock.

DSA and Imbel are the only ones that are still widely produced to my knowledge. It's been that way for a few years now, with a couple of other manufacturers doing some small runs here and there.

You can easily find a reciever from someone on FALfiles and similar places. DSA constantly sends out emails about sales they have going on. Pretty much every time, they at least have one type of receiver on sale.

In regards to their complete rifles, I've already seen them starting to come back in stock on online shops for somewhat cheaper than what DSA charges when ordering direct from them. Give it another 2-3 months and you'll likely see most of their models coming back in stock at various online dealers and the prices going back down. There still seems to be a lack of the para models available, especially anything but the 16". I've only seen one dealer selling an 18" but they're still charging $1900 when it can be be found for $1400-$1500

And the FAL is a better buy. Control placement that make sense. Para stock isnt godawful to shoot. Can get a wood errything model, swap out a few parts, and go full tactical if you want to, swap back is easy.
