Hi, /k/.
I'm brazillian and i'm going to write a cop novel. Thing is, Brazil's a /nogunz/ country and it's extremely hard to see guns in action if you're not a cop nor a criminal, let alone shoot or have them in your possession.
I'd like to know details i probably don't know if i've never shoot a gun before and some guns i'd probably find here in Brazil.
Anyone?

In brazil?
As far as domestic firearms production, the two most notable companies in Brazil are Taurus and Imbel. Imbel primarily makes military firearms that are generally based on old FN Herstal designs, but if you look them up you'll see lots of examples. Taurus makes shitty handguns. They've at times made decent beretta 92 clones, but their quality control has gone to shit even for those.
If you're wondering what kinds of guns gangsters would have, It would be a lot of homemade stuff and bastardized frankenstein guns. They would also have akms/ak47s.
Police would generally use ak47s, fn fals, g3 derivative firearms such as the mp5, ptr91, etc. In nicer areas, police would probably use newer imbel rifles, and elite counterterror/swat type police could be given ar15s, m4a1s, or m16 rifles.

You know we have a resident Brazil cop?
Just search the archives and you'll find him, he's got some pretty cool stories.

Another notable thing is that 12 gauge shotguns can be made out of two pipes, an endcap, and a nail.
These are called slamfire shotguns or four winds shotguns.
They'd be fairly prevalent amongst gangsters.
The thing that struck me the most when I first started shooting is that guns are really fucking loud. Expect some serious EEEEEEEEEEE when shooting guns without hearing protection

Is there any way i can identify him? I've looked on the /k/ archive for keywords like "brazil" and "cop", with no success.

Tell me more things like that, anon! Thank you!

He's an MP.
Replace guns with bananas and you have Brazilian cops.

Keep scrolling down, you'll see the "ITT: Ask a Brazilian Cop" one, that's him. He's got a couple of other threads.
How hard it is to use a Puma? It seems to be a winchester replica, if it helps. .357 and .38 special ammo, weird gun but it seems common in shooting clubs.

Found him, thank you very much.

Whaaat?
I was under the impression that they got CC license and everything.
>>31987972
It's hard as balls to have any kind of license, not to mention guns being really fucking expensive to buy and maintain.

pretty sure based demi chad is from huehueland too

You're thinking of Brazil pre-socialism

Leverguns are pretty easy in my experience, haven't had many problems with mine. Might want to make them carbine length though, might fit the character better, if he's gonna be how I think he is

Well, I'm Brazilian too so I'd like to congratulate you on deciding to become a writer. As for guns you'd see here in Brazil, you could to Taurus' website for a good notion. Also, beyond everything monopolized by Taurus, you'll see a lot of M16A2 Commandos and a lot of M16A2 Carbines in the hands of policmen, a fuckton of FAL rifles made by Imbel, as well as the new Imbel IA2 rifle.

Ridiculously easy to cycle the action if the weapon is properly lubricated and you're not a child. The Puma here is only sold in .38 Special, the .357 isn't available unless you have a Competitive Shooter's license and can prove that the gun will be used for competing.
Also, if we're talking about criminals then you can find them using any sort of gun. Your average armed robber uses revolvers chambered in .32 Smith and Wesson caliber, or .38 Special. Those thugs higher up the food chain will have access to handguns usually chambered in .380 ACP. Now, the real bad motherfuckers can get their hands on calibers ranging from 9mm Parabellum to 45. ACP and .40 S&W (ubiquitous due to the fact that is the standard cartridge for police handguns). Bank robbers and Money Transport Hijackers will often sport submachine guns and assault rifles, some rare times you'll even get to see someone with a BAR or a M1919 M1 Browning machinegun.

He is American. Why would he be Brazilian?

Who is Demi Chad?
>>31989022
Some Dan Bilzerian wannabe who posts here.
>>31986835
You should write how one of the guns goes off after it's dropped.
It would be accurate and gun nuts will think it's funny.

Who's Dan Bilzerian?

instagram dat shit, you'll see

For me, it's the maintenance. It's not quite clockwork, but guns have a lot of internal mechanisms that need regular cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
Try it, compadre.

Better than nothing.

You have been trolled. In early 80's, state of São Paulo licensed around 2.000-3.000 weapons/year to non-military (Sears, Mesbla...). Do you know how much those putos do it nowadays? 8, 10, 14(!)
I'm dead serious.
