now that china has stole EMALS how soon before they build a ford class carrier
>>
Is it really stealing if people like Hillary Clinton sold it to them?
>>
China could have the complete plans down to the last rivet, and their version would blow up and sink.
>>
China does not steal, China is an honorable and dignified nation.

Technology tends to converge on a point when it has the same goal. The technology may look the same but it is not because it is stolen but because the developers have the same perspective with the others. China has always respected the Intellectual Property Rights of lesser nations.

给中国人一把榔头,他制作一百榔头。

虽然你们的国徽是一点从苏联“比着旧衣裁新衣”,或者还有一点原貌好风姿。

The situation is not exactly analogous.

Huangdicun

It actually features two catapults here, one EMALS and the other is Steam.

There is a fierce competition in the dev branch now, whether to equip the Type 002, China's 3rd carrier, with EMALS or with the much more mature and lower risk Steam cats.

According to latest rumors, EMALS was selected and created so much butthurt that the Steam-Cat devs shitposted on Chinese military forums about how their years of labour is wasted now.

As the rumors go, a few days ago, they have launched their first J-15T with the EMALS.

Yeah, it's too bad that the brickheads of the Military OpSec divisions still believe that "secrecy" does any good to them.

There is a reason why the West and the US always releases official footages and photos - not only to please the shareholders, but also to serve as deterrence by showing what toys they have and that they work.

China needs to get on with the times here.

Hypersonic UAV, reportedly.

Pretty much a modernized D-21, but with a speed of up to Mach 7.

Can be launched with booster from the ground, or dropped from a bomber.

Now, that Carrier #2 is nearly ready for launch, they could immediately start laying down the 3rd carrier.

It appears that China might have considerable late-adopter advantage here: They do not need to resort to mechanical means of storing energy via spinning wheels as the Ford uses, but directly jump to using high energy capacitators.
>>
>>31975909
You mean the fourth one.

Jiangnan Shipyard is building the third one.

Oh right.

Although 4th carrier is still not confirmed. Wonder if it will be a 002 as well, or maybe an improved 002A.

>>31976422
Would make sense if they are building two of the same class or sub-class.

>Prior to the ship's departure for China, the RAN stripped Melbourne of all electronic equipment and weapons, and welded her rudders into a fixed position so that she could not be reactivated. However, her steam catapult, arresting equipment and mirror landing system were not removed.[164] At this time, few western experts expected that the Chinese Government would attempt to develop aircraft carriers in the future.[165] The carrier departed Sydney on 27 April 1985, heading for Guangzhou, China, under the tow of tug De Ping.[166] The journey was delayed when the towing line began to part, requiring the carrier and tug to shelter in Moreton Bay, Queensland, on 30 April.[166]

Always funny to read how the West consistently attempted to undermine China's rise with such disregard and arrogance and condescending attitude. The Melbourne story is basically Australia thinking that they can give us garbage without consequences, as if China was the natural garbageman of the West, as if they thought that the Chinese people were content to basically eat the breadcrumbs from their dumpster.

Fuckers wont know what hits them.

We never forget. Never forgive.
