Hello /k/,
I just bought this box of 7.62x39.
Is this stuff corrosive or non corrosive?
I wouldn't worry about it anon.
corrosive
Shoot it then leave your rifle sitting around uncleaned for a few weeks. You'll thank me
it doesnt matter
ALWAYS clean your gun after shooting

Looks like noncorrosive to me. Looks like those 8m3 hollow points or something.
True surplus doesn't say "762x39" and all that russian stuff below it. I have a similar tin of 545, barnaul manufactured.
When you open it up, it'll have a number on either side of the headstamp if it's corrosive surplus, factory, and year of manufacture. The stuff you have will probably have a brand name or a symbol for barnaul plant and caliber on the other side.

You would have to go out of your way to find corrosive 7.62x39

Or, pretend its all corrosive, so you can pee on the bolt face and down the barrel when you're done shooting, comrade.

this.
>Is it corrosive?
Probably not.
>Should it matter?
Just clean your guns and you're fine either way.

corrosive ammo should be cleaned differently than regular ammo is

All military ammo manufactured before 1996 should be considered corrosive. If you're not sure, either perform a nail test OR just treat it like it is and clean accordingly.

Not really. What you use to clean bores of corrosive salts works just fine for routine cleaning as well.

why are you cleaning your ammo
