>>SHTF THREAD
Hey /k/omrades, I've been highly considering building a fallout shelter. Not that I'd need it with Trump as president, but I feel like it would be fun to cheeki breeki in and just generally be prepared for the SHTF. So /k/, does my shelter look good? Any parts I should improve on? I'll go further into detail if anyone wants to know more on my plan.
Also, general bunker, shelter, etc. Thread
growing area for plants needs to be much larger somewhere around 1000 square feet. it is said that to be self sufficient each human needs around 1.5 acers. you would be better off investing the space in food storage..

Granted though, the most food you'd need for an NBC situation, (The primary reason for this bunker) would be two weeks tops.

For the actual garden, I'd probably go all out and make a hydroponic garden. But I've also stocked up on crates of MRE that the government auctioned off a while back. So I do see your point on needing more food storage.

Where's the armory?
Or is it just everywhere?

water doesn't need to be in your shelter, an external buried tank would hold much more water without eating up your square footage.

Seeing as how I'd just have me and my father in the bunker, I could easily turn the bunkroom into a dedicated armory. Otherwise I'll just have guns mounted on the wall or I'll have a safe in the closet.

Good point, but the water area mainly refers to water purification, not storage. By the farm, there's a massive underground water reservoir that I'll tap into.

Nobody ever walks here. Neither people nor beasts. Even the rats are absent.

fuck's sake this is the most retared shelter i've ever seen.

it's a basement shelter, the water is covered by your house. the water there also acts as a radiation shield but will remain potable as long as no fallout blows into it.
water shielding is one of your best options, just put some garbage bags in boxes and hose fill them, no lugging dirt down stairs.

oh and it's an expedient fallout shelter, it's only meant to protect against radiation.
