This. I nearly ended up doing time a couple of years back when a gang of nine 16 - 18 year olds jumped me when I was drunk. I was 19 at the time.

Know how I ended up in the shit? After beating the fuck out of me, one of them (a paki, surprise surprise) was carrying a knife and went to slash me with it. As he did this, I managed to headbutt him and somehow get it off of him, I stabbed him three times and then threatened to kill all of them as they ran off. I called the police and told them what happened, they locked me up for it and treated the kids like angels.

I ended up in court for attempted murder, ABH, being drunk in public, and for breaching the peace, among a few other things. I got let off because I have a good lawyer, and because the kid stupidly asked if he could have his knife back after the whole ordeal. The kids parents tried having a go at me outside of court, pulling the "you don't know who we are, we'll do this, we'll do that" bullshit, I just told them to fuck off.
