Bruv, you can by ALL means get a 1911 for under 800

look at auto ordinance, they aren't spectacular quality by any means but are absolutely functional (caveat here being look for a newere (last 3 years or so, they had some serious QC issues in the past) and if you're into it for the look; beautiful and I'm guessing you haven't carried any guns in the past, but the 1911 in general is a very very nice "carry" gun as far as fullsize goes on account of very slim profile

whole package was about 800; the gun itself was 500, the crimsontrace was 300 (all priced "rounded up"; it wasn't "significantly less" than 800 total, I don't like keep recipts for longterm bookkeeping and shit, but the rounded up prices "per unit" were 500 and 300 rounded up AFTER TAXES; so total was probably really 770-790 or something.

Get a glock or s&w m&p9 if you want the most bang for your buck. You'll have enough change left of your $800 for mags and plenty of gun food.

That is assuming the Texas prices are anything like Chicago's. Last I saw, those were going for between $500-$600.

Also check out the walther PPQ. It shoots like it came upgraded from the factory.
