Opinions on carrying with a light? Most bullshitery happens at night, and light in one and pistol in the other feels clunky and awkward

Should carry one on your carry, also Carey a separate edc light.
>>
My EDC (G26) doesn't have a rail, so I really can't comment too much on it.

It's not an option for me, but it seems like a pretty good idea. I'd do it if I had a rail and the extra cash for a light.

I do EDC a pen-light though, on my left front pocket, and feel confident that I would be fine using it in conjuction with my gun if the need arose.
>>
People don't like it when you point guns at them.

Don't be the guy that points guns at them because his flashlight is on the gun.

Otherwise, carry flashlight away.
>>
>>31934209
I've been debating on getting a light for my CC. But it's hard enough to find a holster for a Steyr, much less one that can accommodate a light.
>>
>>31934396

>Most bullshitery happens at night.

Within the hours of darkness =/= no light.

Most of your hotspots for random violent crime (parking lots, gas stations, etc.) tend to have excellent lighting. Most streets do as well. In short, there is generally enough light around you to enable you to identify whether something is a threat when you're out at night. For those times you aren't sure, is pointing a loaded gun at them (a crime) really the best option? A handheld is better here.

WMLs have their uses -- particularly on long guns, but also for things like building searches -- but I wouldn't prioritize them for CCW, especially given the bulk that most options provide (especially those with good remote switching options).

I CC a G26 too. That was the only issue I had for that gun. So happy they make a light for g26 now.

My Glock 29 came with a light. It turns on when I shoot.
>>
>>31934209
Are you people idiots? I am looking for an extended, offse, long handle for a flashlight. I dont want to get shot in the light.
>>
>>31934209
Separate flashlight. You should carry one anyway, and if you are going to shoot something in the dark you should have already had your flashlight out to assess the situation before you start waving a gun around.
>>
>>31934609
I lol'd
>>
>>31934667
Yeah because that's always an option right
>>
>>31934209
I'm waiting on pic related to arrive (RCS Vanguard Light compatible) in the mail. Its supposed to be supper comfy and I like that I can use it with multiple handguns. I dont see any negatives to having a light on a carry gun, so long as you find a holster thats can accommodate the extra mass comfortably
>>
>>31935079
Well you'll also probably use the light more than the gun...
>>
>>31934209
My cc has a light
Xc1 is so small

I have a light on my HD weapon, but not on my carry one. I really want a rugged but affordable on for my AR, but I know nothing of what is decent.
>>
>>31935169
Has your XC1 given you any problems? My friend got one for his 19 and apparently the switch had a bad connection and wouldn't turn on. I thought it may have been just an isolated lemon until I started reading about more the same issue

Im going to catch shit for this, but the StreamLight Rail Mount lights are pretty solid for the money. I have a rail mount 1 which came with a clicky tail cap and a tape switch for 100 bucks. 350 Lumens is bright enough for me but if you want more the RM 2 is about 600 or something
>>
>>31935226
No the only issues I've had have been temp switches not working all the time when batteries are almost dead. Fine after I put new lithiums in. Had it maybe 6m or less
>>
>>31935218
Surefire bub
>>31935237
They fit nice in those. I wish they made a longer AA one that fit flush on the 20s for dat aesthetic

I'm pretty sure the XC1 was made with the G19 almost solely in mind. I love mind, no issues at all.

That said, the temporary-on switch is fucktarded.
>>
>>31935298
Yeah I think it was too.
>Tfw just bought a G19 tonight
>For gf bday

Idk I love the temp switches based on how I hold the gun I can hit them perfectly. it's more comfy on large frame guns though.

If you carry something like a Glock 19 or P320C, something in those sizes, there's really no excuse as to why you can't spring for an XC1 that weighs rougly 1.6 oz.

That being said, you should have a handheld light on you at all times even when you already have a weaponlight.

Some good videos by Travis Haley regarding white light

>>
>>31935226
Your friend probably just didn't know how to use it. Not that it's hard, but that he's retarded.
>>
>>31935774
>Bad connection so light wont activate on occasion

>Must be the user's fault.

Nice try SF shillfaggot, they actually fixed his XC1 after he sent it in.
>>
Man I envy you guys. Handgun laws up in Canada are fucking trash. I'd love to be able to carry legally
>>
>>31934471
This. Most bullshittery that happens at night happens on a street, and there's virtually always enough light that you wouldn't notice a flashlight anyway. To really get dark you have to be indoors or innawoods.

The last time I was actually in darkness in a city I was driving through some party of Cincinnati years ago at night where all the buildings were literally collapsing and there were no streetlights, either. I didn't stop, and there wasn't really anyone else out and about there either.

>Most bullshittery that happens at night happens on a street, and there's virtually always enough light that you wouldn't notice a flashlight anyway.
Ask how I know you don't venture beyond the most active parts of downtown and have never, ever worked an autoshop late into the night.
>>
>>31934209
Literally ran into this conundrum. Best I could do for it is an OWB leather holster from Galco (shit is back-ordered for a while so do some looking around on other sites). For concealed carry though, I have no idea except for putting it in a bag or something.
>>
>>31936444

That sucks man, I am glad I don't have that problem. My only issue is "what gun and holster am I using today" Feels good to be free.
>>
I feel like those who have actually drawn their weapons on someone would have the best insight on this.

But as of right now I don't believe a weapon light is necessary while carrying a small pocket flashlight is. The pocket light would be useful for everyday uses as well as target identification. So imagine you're in a parking lot at night with various flood lights spotting the area. Some guy is walking towards you and you get this bad vibe, it'd be better to pull out the flashlight and shine it on him to identify and gauge if he's a threat while slowly reaching for your CCW.

Be careful with your TLR-3. I'm pretty gentle with my USP9c yet somehow managed to crack the glass on the TLR-3.
>>
>>31934209
some of the newer ones that are smaller seem like a good idea
the older ones like surefire or streamline are too bulky and look like hell. Personally id rather just use the harris techiniuq, I dont see the need to carry a light with you as EDC anyway. Id keep it in my car
