Does OP mean .300 win mag or .308 win?

That said, IMHO caliber depends on what type of rebel you are.

.308 is for the lone wolf pot shot enthusiast. Turns cover into concealment and allows long distance engagements to facilitate quick egress before your position is compromised.

.223 is for the more social, light skirmisher. Larger mags and more ammo for the same weight is great for slightly longer engagements like throwing an ambush party.
