What do you think would be the best everyman gun? Something that is reliable, easily accessible and affordable enough that your average person can and should have in their home.

My vote is the Mossberg 500 and its variants.
>>
>>31917426
Completely depends on what that average person wants to use it for.

Are they defending their house with it?

Are they going to hunt? If so, what range and animal?

What about house layout and neighboring houses? Do they have to worry about over penetration? Do they live in an apartment complex or a shack in the middle of nowhere?

Are they going to carry the gun? If so, concealed or open?

Or do they want it to also function as a truck gun?

>Mossberg 500

>mfw I can't afford one.
>>
>>31917441
I work at a factory earning $12.50 an hour as a temp (instant hire, always hiring) and I can afford a Mossberg 500, hell I recently built a $700 AR. I worked at Wal-Mart part-time in the past for $9/hr and I was STILL able to afford a Mossberg 500 ($300).

How fucking poor do you have to be to be unable to afford a $300 gun? What do you do when any random expense (car part breaks, unexpected bill, ticket, etc) hits you? Can you also not afford a Maverick 88 which is just a poor-mans Moss500?
>>
>>31917466
I make $733 a month

AR15
>can be had for $600
>many uses from hunting to HD
>low recoil great for women, the elderly, and the disabled
>scalable platform for anyone's needs

Back injury. Paralyzed. Recovered but never fully.
>>
>>31917426
AR15 or AK. anything else basically doesn't need to exist in 2016
>>
>>31917565
so how well can you walk and how do you survive on 733bux?
>>
>>31917441
I paid $350 for mine. Are you really that hard-up?

So do I but I can not imagine being able to live on 733, unless that's just food. if you have to pay rent, insurance, utility bills etc. it doesn't add up.
>>
>>31917509

Put a little aside, bub. $50 a month. It'll take a long time but you'll be able to do it.
>>

Ever consider office work? Maybe as a secretary or something where you can just type and answer calls?

I'm sorry about that.
>>
>>31917613
>$50 a month

That's a significant chunk of his budget. I used to have to make do on $850 a month working a shitty retail job so I have an understanding of what he is going through.

>>31917591
What about tax return time, broski? That's how I managed to land my WASR.
>>
>>31917610
I don't pay rent, but I pay utilities.

Don't have the education to land such a job. It's like you need an MBA to answer fucking phones anymore.

get the mossberg maverick 88 anon

throws angry lead down the hallway just as good as all the other guns

here you need 4 years of trade school to stack shelves at a superstore.

Maverick 88 for 200$ or less brand new.
>>
>>31917696
Basically. I went through Diesel Mechanics school, and was working construction when I got hurt.

Well fuck. I never take that safe lifting shit seriously. Now I feel like I should...
And no more jokes about a twisting, jerking motion.
>>
>>31917591
mount a swivel gun to your chair. Wear a pirate hat everywhere and put a fake parrot on the back of the chair with a jolly roger.

And to answer the OP a 20 gauge pump action. They are cheaper than 12's and everyone can use them, but they're still quite powerful and can use buckshot loads. Used shotguns, even single-shots, can run into the lower $100's.
>>
>>31917672
What's the difference between the 88 and the 500? Just cheaper parts/not perfect QC pass?
I couldn't help but notice that they don't look all that different, but the 88 is less than half the price of the 500.
>>
>>31917707
>Basically. I went through Diesel Mechanics school, and was working construction when I got hurt.
so 733 is insurance? pension? settlement? where does it come from?

How do you have an income and not file taxes?

Because you should. I work in a car parts warehouse myself, and as a bigger guy I have to deal with the heaviest of the heavy.

Bend your fucking knees when you pick shit up. Serious.

it has been my exp. that if you buy cheap, you buy twice. An AR would be the best option fo you me thinks. Windham Weaponry makes great ARs for under 1000.

I suppose if you're already getting cheese money you can't get more cheese money.

Well shit. I strongly urge you to learn some crafty shit that is marketable. Leatherworking stuff or something like that.
>>
>>31917760
Bruh, I didn't have a taxable income last year and I got $300 in gibs from the state of South Goddamn Carolina.

If I hadn't filed a tax return, I wouldn't have gotten it.
>>
>>31917772
It takes money to learn. I've been wanting to learn leathercraft, but I can't afford the tools.
>>
>>31917754
20 gauges just typically cost ~20% less than their 12 gauge counterparts, you don't necessarily need to buy a Chinese knock-off. A $350 mossberg 500 is around $240-290 when you drop to 20gauge and the recoil is more manageable, which is important if you are on wheels or crutches.
>>
>>31917610
>So do I but I can not imagine being able to live on 733

I've been there, it was a motherfucker but it's doable. Had to consolidate a lot of shit, watch for sales and if anything unexpected came up I got fucked but it was doable. My girlfriend was in a similar situation for some time but now you wouldn't be able to tell she's got a handicap or that's she's struggling financially

>>31917828
jesus christ, seems like the memes are real, we're all a bunch of poorfags on /k/inder....
>>
>>31917839
Considering phones are a necessity for a lot of people and free wifi is all over, shitposting online is a viable poor man hobby. Granted a lot of that time could be better spend trying to hustle, but that's not always a viable option. I've been damn near homeless in places I had no connections to blowing disproportionate amounts of money on friends I made in that time that helped me out. Being a poorfag is one thing, letting yourself get locked into that life is another.

Not bashing the paralyzed guy in the least but he's gonna have to find SOMETHING, some way to get started via a windfall or a loan or somebody that's actually nice enough if he wants to improve things.
