got all the rust off it and it works just fine,
how likely is it that a nigger robbed a store with it?

Check hot guns if it's stolen.

Cool. Clean it up and have fun.
Nice score. Good throwaway.
It's probably not a murder weapon...

did not get a picture of it when in the state in which it was found,
it looked like a brick of rust and everything was seized.
>>
Was it loaded when you found it?
>>
It works perfectly fine,
the fucking 45 colt is expensive as shit, only fired one of them.

it hit the corner of an old printer and it blew the glass and door off it,
the only shotgun shells I could find for it were bird shot (7 shot)
which isn't very fun for anything beyond beer bottles.
>>
OK, so, you found it in a river? First off, that's weird, how did you do that? Secondly, how far off the beaten path were you?
My thinking is that niggers are not exactly known for their outdoorsmanship, so unless you found it under a bridge, a cracker likely dropped it. The fact that it had a holster also leads me to think it was whitey-owned. Also, blacks are too fucking stupid to dispose of a murder weapon.
My bet is it's probably just lost by the original owner, but I don't have a lot to work with.
>or the previous owner threw it in there cuz LOL Taurus!
>>
>>31914861
First, check for a serial number.
If it doesnt have one or its visibly been messed with DO NOT keep it. Just having a gun with the serial messed with is a felony.
Second, find out if your local police will run the number for you to see if its stolen. Call them and ask about it, make up a story about wanting to check the numbers before buying it.
Its its stolen, follow their insuctions or just break it down, wipe all prints and toss it back.b
If it comes back clean, congrats on the free gun. Keep it as a throw away or truck gun.

OK I'll stand by my guess. I think some fisherman lost it.

How are the serial numbers, are they altered or anything? Can they still be read? That could be a thing .

what is that worth, $50 now? $100? I don't know w hat state you're in, but in mine having an unregistered pistol is a huge no-no, and would lead to having all your funs confiscated, etc etc. I don't push my luck with the laws because the consequences are huge.
Not everybody feels like that, and you may have no legal grey areas at all. If so, more power to you, have fun with that thing. Free is free.

If all the above are true, then op has a free hand scattergat.
>>
>>31915151
if it's used in a crime, there's some implication that you either committed the crime or were an accessory to it
otherwise, you're "technically" possessing a firearm/property that you don't legally own. it's pretty gray, but if the owner is putting in the legal effort to report it lost/stolen it just makes life more difficult for you
>>
>>31915572
Have a good feeling that the owner doesn't care.

the .410 pdx rounds are relatively unimpressive, like most .410 loads. just shoot some size of buckshot or BB shells

Nigger, look into "electrolysis rust removal".

It will literally get every single molecule of rust off your firearm and it will be far safer than what you have right now.

Also don't you know rivers are the first place anyone would go to toss a gun they just used in a murder. It all sounds sketchy.
>>
>>31914861
OP try the penny trick, use a copper penny (date before 1982). After that you can sand it with very fine sandpaper and maybe blue it or duracoat it (if u want of course)

This means the "I lost it in a boating accident" meme is actually true!

My grandfather always used to tie a fishing bobber and about 100 yards of 25lb test fishing line to his shotgun whenever we'd go out duck hunting for exactly that reason.

Run some fine grit emory cloth down that barrel,OP. Just to make sure the rust is gone. REALLY gone.
Then oil the fuck out of it. Wrap it in a greasesd cloth, and seal it in a mylar bag with a couple desiccant packs.
Then seal 4 boxes of .45lc in another mylar bag with some desiccant.
Then put both bags in an ammo can. Tape over the lip of the lid with duct tape, and brush over the whole can with a couple tubes of silicone.
Then go bury it out in the State forest.
You've been blessed by the /k/ube with a gun with no connection to you. Put it in the rainy day fund.
You don't need to be a weatherman to see which way the wind is blowing.

if you remove the numbers they do an acid wash process to lower the surrounding metal. when you stamp the numbers into the gun it compresses the metal and the acid wash can remove the non compressed metal making the numbers visible again. Plus cops have special cameras/techniques for reading the pages of a notepad that were left after a top note was removed... all of the above is pretty bad for the whole grind off the number bit. grind deep and chemically destressing where the number was is not what I would recommend. Gun was either lost or went swimming for a reason.
