I've heard the same; had a College professor who claims he tried to join the Air Force. I believe him. Turns out he was too short or something. I don't recall him being all THAt short either. Maybe 5'9 at the shortest? Always wore shirts that had those little hoop things on the shoulders. Epaulettes? Seems like it was REALLY what he wanted to do, and was genuinely disappointed when he couldn't get in. He was a pretty cool guy for the most part.

No. There is a maximum for confined spaces, f.i. submarines, tanks, mechanized infantry. 7" guys, or anything above 2 meters really is uncomfortably tall for these places.
Light infantry is mostly unlimited. if you're big, I can get you to carry more ammo, and there is no such thing as too much ammo. Tall strong guys usually end up carrying heavy shit.

Correct. FYI, if you want to advance to the highest, most prestigious officer ranks, you need a stanine score of 9. Colonels score 8 or higher, Majors 7 - officers dumber than that will stay Captains until retirement.
