Excuse me Lord Vader, why do the drive yards at Kuat insist on these large windows on the bridge? Surely an array of remote viewers and sensors would be far more efficient and safe for the flagship of the Imperial Navy.
It's made of plassteel you asshole, plus we have particle shields. Our tech is advanced enough that we can have windows on our spaceships, and make them look like whatever we want, instead of a cube with thrusters on every side. Now leave me alone before I murder you with my mind.
>>31897516
>he wants to feel like a prisoner on his own ship
Just use energy shielding. Kuat has the right idea
>>31897536
But Lord, remember when that drunken A Wing pilot crashed into the bridge destroying the entire ship?
>>31897564
Maybe they should've intensified forward firepower a little sooner if they didn't want that to happen.
>>31897564
The pilot survived.
Plassteel.
>>31897564
which was total bullshit because a ship of that size would have had a secondary command bridge
>>31897596
remeber these are the morons who built a giant floatin orb of death with an uncovered exhaust port. all the weapon designers for the empire are smoking dope.
>>31897596
>He says this when a little shitlord blew up a planet destroying battle station with ghost magic and some bullshit.
And I swear to God I will kill anyone who mentions that flying pancake.
>>31897516
Windows are structural weakness. Geth do not use them.
>>31897574
I like you
>>31897596
>>31897564
Why exactly are we still having manned space ships anyway? I mean, obviously the ships need a habitable zone for transporting soldiers, but the ship itself could be almost completely automated with weapons controlled by an AI module with secondary and tertiary AI's ready to go if the first AI is killed somehow. A human commander and a few of his subordinates could act as an "advisor" to the AI in terms of giving mission directives but the ship would be able to make tactical decisions within whatever parameters given to it very quickly without the need for too much human input other than setting mission objectives like "Don't kill too many civilians" or "Actually kill all the civilians."
>>31897610
>moon sized battle station
>wamp rat sized exhaust hole
Imperial engineers are fucking good at their job even when the job they're asked to design is retarded
death of imperial citizens is required to feed the dark side of the force.
The more brave imperial navy personnel are killed the more valid the stopping of the republic and persecution of the rebels becomes!
>>31897637
...Do you realize how dumb our AI's are?
It's bad enough that they are produced en mass just so we can kill the enemy with a literal army of five year olds with guns.

That whole Endor space battle was a crock of shit anyway. Look at the composition of the Rebel fleet in the shot where it comes out of hyperspace - just a few ships, not large at all. Later on there are shown to be far more capital ships than were shown previously.
>>31897650
>completly unarmored womp rat sized exhaust hole.
and also what do you think are the economical rammifications of blowing up a death star? thats like the US losing half of its carrier groups to somali pirates with speedboats full of c4
>>31897654
Bullshit. The rebellion has AI units that are practically sentient individuals. Surely imperial science is capable of matching this.
>>31897637
>>31897654
Trade federation had some ships that kind of worked like that
>>31897672
Yet we use idiots with guns and the heavy ones don't even communicate.
Nooo, we had to let the moronic klankers coms.
>>31897671
Not really. They managed to build two and keep them secret. It was expensive but not ruinously so.
>>31897671
I always wondered why they didn't put a blaster shield like 5 feet away from it so nothing could get in but whatever is being exhausted could get out
Anyone else a Hoth veteran? I was part of the CWAS brigade that managed to infiltrate the Hoth base prior to Vader's arrival with my squad. But I had to have one of those 501st guys as "escort" so I wouldn't get in Vader's way when he entered.
Pic related, im second from the left.

Iirc Executor Class Star Destroyers do have at least one secondary bridge somewhere deeper inside the ship. The Executor's sister ship had one.

AI is only really good at dealing with concrete concepts, so you'd have to program it with absolute directives like "don't kill imperial citizens". Humans are needed for their ability to effectively balance priorities and make difficult decisions.
