Heard of a weapon that was "dropped" in R&D, but then the project files mysteriously disappeared.

It was essentially a high-powered water gun intended to be a non-lethal, but at 3 feet or closer, it pierced bone. Silent and deadly, but it had to be up-close and personal. Leaves no projectile, makes no noise, nigh invisible to the naked eye. Heard it almost got repurposed for putting down livestock.

Don't assassinate. That only makes your target a martyr, and discredits your cause. Instead, humiliate them. Remove their credibility. Render them impotent.

If there's anything to be learned from history, it's that if you want to use assassination as a political tool, the only way you'll reach a favorable outcome is by targeting someone aligned with your goals but utterly inept. That way you make a martyr for your cause while simultaneously eliminating dead weight.

Even then, though, assassination is a really shitty tool for invoking change. The pen is still mightier than the sword, at least until you actually go to war.
