No, while that one is also true, they really believe that .357 is the strongest caliber in the world, at least for pistols, and that whichever gun uses .357 is stronger than anything else.

This is especially common in video games. In CSGO theres an R8 revolver chambered in .357 and it deals more damage than a .50 AE deagle.

And the strongest gun in half life is a Colt Python. Apparently stronger than an actual alien rifle or point blank 12g shotshell

.44 isn't half as popular as you'd think it is. Sure Dirty Harry and all that, but there was only one good Dirty Harry film and it wasn't THAT popular. Theres a .44 in taxi driver too but he doesn't ever uses it. .357 is the most popular "heavy duty" caliber in TV with Colt Python being the most popular revolver for it. Like in The Walking Meme.

And besides, while .44 is not the strongest caliber in the world, a .44 can totally royally fuck your shit up.

No, Dirty Harry developed a cult following but it was only moderately successful at the box office. And like he said the amount of terrible sequels hurt its reputation.

Also it's been years since I've watched Taxi Driver but I recall him using the .32 for blowing up the fat guy's fingers.

You are wrong on both accounts.

Budget was $4 million and made $36 million at box office. That is huge in 1971 money. And it has influenced dozens of buddy cop movies for decades since and has had a huge following, cult, cable TV and home video sales, for decades.

And it was definitely the .44 mag that Travis Bickle used to blow the dude's fingers off. Source: it's my favorite movie and I have seen it about 40-50 times in my life.

>.357

I bet some part of the popularity comes from the fact that it sounds complex when you say it.

It's not a forty-five which sounds like the manlet of bullet calibers.

It's not a nine millimeter, with a bit longer and more evil name which it probably got because terrorists used those in their full-porcelain Glock 7 pistols that cost more than you make in a month.

It's a THREE FIFTY SEVEN MAGNUM. A caliber with a name that is so long that you have to think of it for two seconds before you fully grasp the length of the words. And with THAT many words, it is going to do some heavy damage.

Its a targeted assault on gun rights. There are a few benefits to going after rifles first.
1.Many blacks and woman own hand guns. Need to keep that vote.

3.rifles are the weapon that keeps them in check.

Kek... Reminds me of my gun-owning dad and showing him my swords... Man had no fear of guns and all the fear in the world of edged weapons. Often said he'd prefer being shot to being stabbed. It effected him so much that he bled all over the place one day because he clumsily tried to prepare a crossbow due to his fear.

Thankfully I'm familiar with knives, rifles, and handguns now. The more familiar you are with handling said weapon, the less you fear it. I remember deciding to get a handgun just a few months ago getting anxious and rattling on like a sperg about the importance of safety and safe training practices and that I'm honestly not as familiar with handguns as I am with rifles and I was so embarassed by my info dump, I decided not to purchase that day because I couldn't identify why I was so fucking anxious.
>I handle razor sharp katana and shotgun practically as if they were playthings for me, with total control
>why does this handgun shake me up desu
I reached the conclusion it was simply a lack of familiarity, and the best way to combat the anxiousness was to go ahead, buy one with snap caps, toy with it, dry-fire it, fiddle with slide, take slide off, finger fuck the living hell out of it, and then put about 200 rounds through the target at the range, constantly adjusting my accuracy and then a seperate occassion to get techniques down for drawing it and shooting.

Got my concealed carry permit, and now I'm not afraid to go to shit neighborhood at night or to go on the midnight strolls I've been longing to go on but didn't because of my lack of fire powah and abundance of criminals in the area. Midnight strolls with flashlight are the best strolls.

>>
>>31891696
Nah. Not really. If I am, I'm incredibly high functioning. I've met real autists and I'm way more composed when I'm not anxious. The midnight strolls have really helped me with the anxiety. That and I finally have cool coworkers in majorily male workforce now. Many of them even like anime or same music I do. Lack of exercise and bitches at my old job and there politically correct obsessed drama were driving me up a wall.

Also, just to clarify, I don't use 4chan slang irl.
>>
>>31891737
Should say I'm more composed than them even when anxious. A majority of shit I rattled off my first time talking to clerk at gun shop was stuff like political beliefs, importance of more people carrying, being embarassed by my hypocrisy of telling people to carry while failing to do so myself (though that was mostly due to a lack of cash). It was honestly just an oddly anxious first visit while I was still heavily lacking exercise. I'm much better now.

This isn't strictly a noguns thing, but people vastly overestimate the power of bows and crossbows. Sure, plenty of people died from getting shot by arrows back in the day, but they also didn't have antiseptics or blood transfusions then. The hole punched by an arrow is nothing compared to the absolute fucking carnage a rifle or shotgun round wreaks on living flesh.
>>
>>31891879
>>why doesnt the military issue crossbows?
Some do actually, but mostly for establishing zip-lines, launching grappling hooks.

Chinese use them because they (supposedly) can stop a person without risk of causing detonation if they are wearing suicide vests.

I think indians used to use them with cyanide-tipped bolts as an aalternative to suppressed firearms, but I don't know if it's bullshit or not.

Semi automatic cycles the rounds for you, even in double action you are cycling the rounds with your physical input.

Oh shit you told me so hard.
>bang till it goes click once
>bang till it goes click a bunch of times.
In the way they are used, yes.

>Regis, "what is a 'video game'"

Volvo doesn't give a shit. To them, games being balanced, challenging and fun is more important than being autistically accurate about everything they do

Not trying to make a screen cap worthy slam here, it's just a fundamental difference in function and how they work. Don't be chained to your ignorance. Embrace learning.
>>
>>31895673
Can't you read? I'm saying they're used in the same way, not that they're the exact same fucking thing. I know how both work mechanically, they're VERY different.

If they did I doubt they'd use cyanide, since cyanide is quite weak and slow acting as far as poisons go.

"You can shoot .45 LC out of a .410 shotgun."
Okay, you can do this with varying degrees of success, depending on the shotgun but it's not a good idea.
>>

It increases spread in the sense that the BBs leave the barrel sooner, nuts its a very minute difference.

I've always been under the impressions that noguns think that it makes it more powerful.

I can't hit shit with a 26" barrel shotgun but give me my good ol mossberg 500 with an 18.5 inch and I hit clays all day. I don't know why.

Weren't many of the well known mass-shootings done with semi-automatic rifles?
>>
>>31896668
But those only account for something like .08% of all gun deaths

The G43 only copies the SVT-40s short-stroke piston. Other than that it's primarily based on the G41.

None of them phrase it that way though, pretty much no one thinks criminals would magically obey simply because something is a law, rather they think it would be practical to enforce such a law to the point where most criminals are unwilling to take the risk.

>>31891422
Assault rifles are a real thing though.

>>31891945
I've heard that they're used by some special forces and so on for assassination-type usage, since they're quieter than most guns.

>>31893075
I think their reasoning is that someone with 100 guns is obsessive about guns (and, by extension, killing).
>>
>>31894777
Aren't they, though? Semi-auto just means one shot per trigger pull, & you don't need to do anything in between shots.

>>31896708
Yeah but those are the things that get people's attention, so that's what they focus on.

for all we know, the signs were his own. Theres little to go on. You know, hicks out in the boonies will put up signs in their wooded property to inform hikers/hippies/hunters of the property change/ownership, to properly inform strangers of the inherant danger. could it be that anon's fudd was blasting his own signs to give them some sense of authenticity.

Tfw I still thought this was true, grandpa an Afghan veteran from the Soviet day.

Helped me make my first knife, put that groove in it claiming that this way it won't create suction/vacuum type stuff when inside someone.

Making the knife easier to pull out to stab again.

Apologies for bad english.

What? Because I took the time to take actual kenjutsu classes, I must be asian? Tf kinda logic is that? I'm white as hell. Much to your probable disappointment.

Guys into guns, /k/ applauds, you mention you know how to wield swords and fairly well, and everybody loses their minds.

>pretty sure it is illegal
>No, it's not

Also, as soon as anyone mentions CoD or any other video game I just ignore them and any comments they might have. Why are noguns so confused by an SBR PS90?
