Building my first AR and I've chosen it too be .308. I'm not sure on forking over 280$ for a stripped lower but is that really the mean price?
>>31855002
depends on the lower. last time i bought a stripped AR-10 lower (DPMS rather than Armalite spec) it was $150.
>>31855002
120 for tm stripped lower when I built mine.

>going for a 7.62 NATO/308 AR
>already complaining about price on a stripped lower
boy are you gonna have quite a journey ahead of you
>>31855911
This. I priced out a custom build AR-10 exactly the way I wanted it. Before accessories (including optics) the cost came to right around $1800. AR-10s are fucking expensive to build and fucking expensive to feed.

Expensive, but worth it if you're gonna hunt or do target shooting.
Ar 15 are fun for the run around factor, 308s are just heavier and have more range and recoil.

And yes, I'm saving for a better optic.
Looking at the vortex 4x16x
I built a .308 and just a heads up. You blow through 20 rounds at $34 in about 4 seconds.

I think the Aero precision lowers are around $150, if you want a good AR10 spare no expense. Also outside of proprietary/piston shit the rifle length 20" fixed stock is still the most reliable.

The variant you posted is the best aesthetic by far.
>>31856329
That front sight, what is it
Should I get a maten upper/lower if I can find one? I want something nice that is also compatible with lots of shit.

jeebus christ
what are you shooting that's over $1/round for .308 ???
>>31856118
Whewww...
Is that a $2,500 - $3,000 1 to 8x scope?

We don't have cases of 7.62 where I live so I end up having to buy regular (hunting) ammo. Sometimes they get boxes of American Eagle but it's still about $30 a box of 20.

im not worried about the price in that sense rather should i be spending 280 for any entry stripped lower now a days, would purchasing said 280$ stripped lower be assrape?

German machine guns make muh dick hard.
Always buy matched receiver sets from the same company.
I'm waiting for Aero M5 receivers to get back in stock.

I'm fairly certain your front sight is on backwards. Maybe that's just me.
My feel is hack
>>31857463
The name of the sight is on the front, if you are looking at the muzzle. My Daniel Defense sight on my AR-15 is the opposite.

Does this seem good?
