A few months for me. I got a red dot for my first AR after owning it for around 3 months. I put the PA1-6X on my current 16" shortly after getting it. Tomorrow, I'll put an Aimpoint PRO on my pistol

New2guns here. I've got a new M-15, and I've got a couple questions. First, the thing seems to be sending the casings really far, about 5-7' at about a 135 degree angle. The second is the trigger seems to be very heavy. I've only but about 20 rounds through this thing (got to the range somewhat late) so is that something that'll wear in, or is it something I should be concerned about?

Putting together my first AR-15. Are these Del-Ton uppers any good? I am strongly considering the AR-15 16" Pre Ban A2 barrel assembly. I like the built in carry handle.

I am hesitant because of the 1:9 twist. Does that make that big of a difference?

I asked this in the QTDDTOT thread, but I haven't gotten any replies. It pertains to my AR as well and these threads are pretty quick so I'll repost it here:

Normally I use CLP and a little bottle of regular Hoppes lube for my guns, but I found this spray bottle of silicone lube. Can I use this in place of regular lube for my guns? Are there any drawbacks? I'm sure it's not dangerous or anything, but is it longer lasting or anything? Mine says it leaves a dry film, which I assume is a good thing, as it will still lubricate even when the spray dries up. Am I wrong or do you guys use this stuff? It's a lot easier to just hose down what I want to lube up than work at it with a rag and liquid lube.
