British Desert DPF or dirty ACU's.

Dirty ACU's are actually very kickass in that stuff as long as they've never been washed with that wash-eeze or bleach substitute detergents, which makes them glow like a fire on IR.

So no bleach sub washing + a few days field dirt on them, Dirty ACU's work great, especially in sagebrush, and even more so at night.

Had a ball fucking with some Opfor guys during an NTC rotation thanks to that combo. Most of the guys in our element were all wearing multicams which didn't blend for shit, so we busted out our old ACU pattern IBA's and some old ACU's and did some old fashioned nighttime sneaking around.
Using a rubber band looped around the back of our MILES lasers, you can snap the rubber band against the housing and it fires the laser without any noise from shooting a blank. We shot up a bunch of Opfor guys that way.
The OCT's got a real laugh out of it the morning after. We were still in our dirty ass ACU's hanging out by our vehicle when our 1SG was about to go full WTF on us for being in ACU's when the OCT's started asking us just what we'd been doing the night before.

So yeah, dirty ACU's work better than you'd think.

Afaik legit US military battledress (as well as other first world militaries) had stuff like bug-repelling properties, flame/acid resistance and even some kind of passive IR reduction capabilities
