Yeah, those are the SP-01 Tactical. Good luck finding one though, they seem to get bought up pretty quickly and every turd burglar on gunbroker will list a regular one with "tactical", "TACTICAL", and "Decocker" in their title.

Who's hyped for the Shadow 2?

I'll be off my provisional licence in a month (so I'll be able to buy a handgun), but I'm not sure if a Shadow 2 is worth the price increase over a regular SP-01.

The Shadow 2's going to retail for $1700 compared to $1100 for the original, but you can get them second hand with a few mags for a bit under $1k.

Should I get one or save my money?

wanted a P-01 for the longest time but will probably hold back and just get a LC9 because I need to CCU during athletic stuff

Buy a piece of nicely figured walnut, a rasp, some files, sandpaper from 100 to 6000 grit, and some of whatever durable finish you choose and you can have something way better for like a hundred dollars and an hour of work.

i was not able to find a single Sp-01 Decocker anywhere; so i settled with a safety model.

the CZ has less muzzle flip and feels slightly better in the hand, but i like M9s

Never dealt with an Omega trigger. Really want to handle a P-01 Omega.

Have shot (my) CZ SP-01 and my father's Beretta 92 and 96. The CZ feels slimmer in hand, and has always felt easier to keep pushed out (though I've never weighed the pistols). The Beretta's beefier slide is easier to manipulate in one-handed malfunction drills.

Some ppl bitch about finish wear on the slide and tooling marks.
But neither have any affect on accuracy or reliability

Pic is the tooling marks on my sp-01 that's everyone bitches about.

I've seen a few m9s with cracked frames, but that most likely because they were police trade ins.

They're fine. Some people have ridiculous expectations for $450-$600.

SP-01s have strong recoil springs for whatever reason. I switched mine to a lighter one so the muzzle doesn't dip as much when the slide returns to battery.

It's likely to ensure a certain "lifespan" for the recoil spring. That the slide is slamming forward hard enough to dip the muzzle is evidence enough that the spring was stronger than necessary to ensure function. A heavier spring would be more likely to "short stroke" on weaker loads, as well. Not that crazy light 9mm is even that popular.

They stopped making short rails aound 1980-ish I think, so they're rather uncommon. The issue is more finding one for a reasonable price since people get into bidding wars over them and they end up selling for thousands.

Other /k/ommandos have gotten ahold of them so they're out there. You just have to find a seller who doesn't know what they have.

My surplus CZ 85 pretty B is in the shop getting Cerakoted right now. I can't decide on grips. I'm getting a stainless lower with black slide.

I'm pretty excited. This is my first legitimate defensive handgun due to MD's handgun liscense laws, which I refuse to get based on principle. I already have a TTC and P64, but they are low capacity. Under MD law, you can buy a C&R handgun without a liscence and the cz82 is considered a curio and relic.

Just picked up a CZ75 B (omega) from the store today. I went to an Academy close to me, originally planning to buy a Glock, but I saw a CZ P-09 that I really liked a lot more than the Glocks. I played with it a bit and asked how many they had in stock, and the guy said 2, but then came back with a CZ P-07. I didn't like that one as much, it felt a little small. He also said that they wouldn't be able to sell to me because the background check thing was down.

I wasn't sure what to do, so I asked if they had P-09s in stock anywhere else. He pointed me to another store, and i went out there. When I got there, I noticed they had CZ75s as well as the P-07 and P-09. I asked to hold it (since I've never fired a 75 before) and I fell in love with it.

I really like it, and I've heard so many good things about CZ that I know I made a solid choice. I would like to get wood grips one day, though.

As weird as it sounds, that's one of the things I like about the first SP-01.
It's cold and efficient.

The Shadow 2 does definitely give off more of the impression of sports equipment than a duty gun though.

Here's kind of a bad picture, I might take some more tomorrow outside depending on how the light looks.

The 75 feel amazing in my hand, like it's just perfect. I held the 19 and it felt too small. The P-07 felt small as well, but more comfortable. The P-09 felt pretty good, but when I saw it next to the 75 I knew I had to get the 75 as my first CZ. (and first pistol, really)

Did you mean P-01? The PCR is a slim, lightweight, compact carry pistol. The P-01 is just as lightweight and compact, but a little less slim with the rail. The SP-01 weighs a lot more and is a lot larger. I think anybody in the thread would recommend an SP-01 to someone who likes guns, but it is not an acceptable substitute for a PCR.

Check Gunbroker and Slickguns, though. I heard that PCR's are coming into the country right now so you should be able to find a couple if you buy online.
