Steiner, S&B, and Swarovski use German glass.

USO, NF, and a few others use US glass.

IMO US glass is the best, but the Germans sure know how to make a well laid-out optic. If I could get NF glass in a PMII I'd be happy.

its all about tolerance stacking anyway. one stock might fit fine on one extension but wobbly on another. you dont know how its going to fit until you get a stock onto your extension. that being said, b5 sopmods are usually on the tighter side. the bravos ive found to be generally more loose for some reason.

Alrighty guys I need your advice.

So Commiefornia has passed a raft of new bullshit that makes our standard bullet button no longer kosher. We either have to go to the newer bullet button which requires you to completely pop open the action in order to drop the mag, register them as assault weapons or go featureless. I'm looking at my options as I've got 3 ARS to change over so it's going to be a big project.

My current idea is to go featureless since I already have an approved muzzle device (linear compensator) and I can easily get rid of the foreward/angled foregrip on my 2/3 rifles.

I'm thinking of just doing a kydex wrap and installing an ambi safety and calling it done so I don't have to change out the grips or stocks too much. Anyone got any other suggestions?

Specs they've revealed so far are the following:

-Use Carbine Buffer tubes
-Bottom Plate is removeable for mounting monopods.

Most of the cheap milsurp xm855 and xm193 will be either 55gr or 62 gr, both will stabilize just fine in a 1:8/1:9 twist barrel. You only really want to go 1:7 if you plan to regularly/primarily shoot the heavy grain stuff like 69/77/80gr bullets, but past 77 you can only load one shot at a time due to magazine length limitations.

As for the second question, most line guys are going to use 62gr stuff with lots of 55gr being used up as they work through them. Special ops guys working in places like afghanistan where their engagement distance is much longer are using custom made ammo using 77gr hollowpoint match rounds for their rifles, mostly through Black Hills Ammunition.

When will this meme die? Ninety percent of 5.56 barrels that are made for the AR-15, including anything mil-spec such as the Colt LE6920, are 1:7" twist. The most common weight bullets loaded in "military" 5.56 ammunition are 55 grain and 62 grain. Obviously the military thinks that 1:7" twist is just fine for 55 grain ammo. They prefer 1:7" because it's the most versatile. The only way you're going to find a 1:8" or 1:9" barrel is literally a custom or semi-custom build, and even then, you'll only notice a difference if you're actually using 55 grain ammo for long range shooting, which is stupid because heavier bullets are superior in any case. Even high end manufacturers like Daniel Defense, LWRC, BCM and LMT are using a 1:7" twist in their non-custom rifles.

If you literally understand that you might need to switch over to 77 grain match ammo for 300 yard shooting, or you never plan to shoot at these distances, then get a 1:7 twist barrel and don't worry about your barrel's twist rate ever again.
