600yds is doable with a 16", but practically speaking about 200 yards outside the "effective" range. 600yds is just fine for a 20", but you're going to regret spending $1100 for an HBAR 20" that weighs far more than it needs to.

its meh to me. most people shoot 55gr and both will do just fine. The colt will last a bit longer due to the carbon and finish of the barrel. But for most people the MP15 will do just fine.

I know you're stuck on the UBR, but consider the STR as an option. The slanted sides allow for a very nice cheek weld, and the battery compartments can be filled with lead to help even out the weight.
