What is with the Russian refuelling requests?https://www.rt.com/news/364410-malta-refuel-admiral-kuznetsov/https://www.rt.com/news/364410-malta-refuel-admiral-kuznetsov/

Is it just a diplomatic dance?
Why doesn't this specific CVBG include a tanker?
>>
When was the last time that Kuznetsov did RAS/UNREP? Maybe they don't have the crew skills to do it.
>>
Because it's easier to refuel in a port than at sea

Also the last time they tried to refuel at sea they caused an oil slick off Ireland and had to be towed back to Russia

So hypothetically if no country agrees to refuel it, will it just stop?
>>
>>31824414
No Russia would just send a tanker to it
>>
>>31824414
No, since russians have tankers. They just do not want to refuel at sea, first of all because its asspain, second is because apparently they did not practice it a lot.
>Also the last time they tried to refuel at sea they caused an oil slick off Ireland and had to be towed back to Russia
Towing was unrelated to refueling, though. Its propulsion simply died.

Pic related. Goodbye Star Destroyer.

On a related note, isn't it odd Star Trek deck layouts are better than real life deck schematics by miles?

Either we are escapism enthusiasts like what cinemaphiles in the great depression where, or we are inside a holodeck and the computer is lazy as fuck.

I wanna see Akula, Alfa, Ohio and Virginia deck layouts that are as good or better than these science fiction ones.

Russia have Boris Chilikin-class fleet oilers, but for some reason they go begging scraps at the door of other nations.
Are the oilers in the same state of abysmal disrepair as pretty much the rest of their fleet and thus unable to set sail?
Why else skulk about as filthy beggars?
>>
I mean, LOOK at the details.

IRL military schematics a shit.

Star Trek is where its at.

I keep wishing I could find schematics this good for real life ships.

Closest I've found was for WW2 destroyers and my god I was not disappointed. There was so much info I couldn't even navigate the site. It was insane.

Real things have blueprints.

The picture in >>31824841 is not a blueprint.

I had an argument with a guy over that Russian carrier. I said it took 15 years to become fully operational because the keel was laid when the collapse started and as the project owners saw its mission change they changed the Kusnetsov.

By the end with no money and no Soviet Union Russia wanted a ship that was a destroyer, cruiser, and a carrier that could stand alone if need be.

That carrier is in /k/s eye because of its trip to Syria. What about the escorts?

How many subs or ships are screening it?

It was designed to be a jack of all trades.

And its decades old but the schematics on it are such garbage that we know how Star Trek ships work better.

Such speeds ("Warp factor 9" is ~800c) would be impossible without a system that could easily handle and deflect that.

Former gasoline distributor here.

You pay cash or risk a madman jumping on the hood of your vehicle if you drive off without paying.

If gas stations carry guns, tasers, and baseball bats bet your ass ports have ways to make sure you don't sail off unrighteously.

Russia may have a shit Navy ATM but that's because their tanks and troops can take Europe. WW2 cost Russia a tremendous %25 of their entire population an they still beat America to space.

Russians are insane. They ran past the red line for decades and the motor shows it. Leave them be and don't talk shit. I was never required to learn rocket science in public schools but they were.

Russia is still Americas ally and our stupid arguments are settled out of the world court.

This - although the tanker might be coordinated to switch course in the unlikely event somewhere in western europe accepts to supply (and can give a good price). Tanker would come from the Black sea heading for Atlantic.

Then what you said is completely utterly 100% incorrect. All main differences to the project were considered in 1978-1981, before the construction began. By the time it was laid down it was perfectly clear for them what they want with this ship.

Pretty much any unified people will do this in a similar situation.

And turbo-lasers are particle beams/plasma weapons. Also hyperdrives are faster than warp drives by orders of magnitude.

Lucas was just so, so shit at describing it all. Millennium Falcon goes '.5 past light speed', but then makes it to 'the other side of the galaxy' to Bespin in just a few days. Weapons which agitate gaseous matter and then expel it using magnets are 'turbo lasers'. Guy knew next to nothing about science.
