>Refreshing!!! An AR with no junk! I have a Colt A2 and I'm perfectly happy with the solid stock and 20 in match barrel. I did however, swap out the standard handguards for a DPMS free floater. To avoid using the front sling swivel, I installed a front hinge pin that accepts a swivel sling. No tension on the barrel. I soil, however get an A3 or M4 upper receiver for more sighting options. But, as a civilian, I'm still not totally sold on the whole flashlight on the gun thing.

that barrel will serve you well to learn and beat on. Chrome lining. from my understanding is useful for Full Auto fun. Barrel is also NOT CHF and yes you would get a better barrel if you bought a PSA premium with the FN cold hammer forged barrel.

-Dunk a bronze brush in solvent and scrub the bore with it for maybe 5-10 passes, then let it sit.
-Take the bolt out and disassemble it, wipe everything down with a paper towel dipped in solvent, let it sit for a few minutes. If there's still gunk on there you can use a bronze brush to scrub at it.
-Wipe down the bolt with a clean paper towel until the gunk is all gone and it's dry, lightly oil the moving contact surfaces.
-Run patches down the barrel, 2-4 swipes each until they come out looking clean. Do not oil the inside of the barrel.
-Wipe down the rest of the gun, apply tiny dabs of oil to other moving surfaces if you want, then reassemble the bolt and snap everything back together.

It's really not going to leave any marks in my experience, nor will it scratch the steel. If there are a few tiny bronze traces there, just ignore them, though I've never seen any. They might just wipe off.

Also, s/bronze/brass if you want, one's as good as the other, and even some polymer brushes are great too. It just needs to be stiff but less hard than steel, and since there's likely flammable powder residue, nothing that will spark.

BA barrels aren't chrome lined but you can buy with confidence, they're good barrels with sub-MOA accuracy guarantee. Qpq/melonite is a more modern and less expensive corrosion resistance treatment than chrome lining, which was established as mil-spec for the AR15 back when it was first designed.

yeah rods are much easier and work better imo. I just use the cheap kits you can get at walmart for $10 or so, the rods have held up so far, though they seem like they could break somewhat easily if you dont focus on what your doing. I use clp to clean then apply oil at the end

it has two verticle lines, one gets thicker or thinner if your eye is out of center (parallax), it will also create an abberation of some sort between the lines.

I think it's an underrated reticle, especially since you can still use the triangle for rangefinding.
