Use a heavier oil for storage. CLP is for cleaning, not storing.

This, long-term storage means heavy oil or even grease in a storage safe with a dehumidifier and/or dessicant.

Real long term should be cosmoline'd and vacuum packed.

I toss a bunch of desiccants from work (pharmacy) with my guns. Seems to work.
