Say I have only 600 dollars and I need a semi-automatic weapon with medium range.
What do I consider?
>>31800077
SKS
>>31800077
Es-Kay-Es
>>31800077
AR-15
>>31800077
Chinese SKS and a 1000 rounds of ammo
>>31800098
>>31800124
>>31800139
do they perform well?
>>31800077
AR. You can find a M&P for around that price. You can build your own for around $400.
>>31800201
Yes. A decent SKS in the US can be had for around $400, depending on the condition it's in. A case of 1000 7.62x39 is around $250.
>>31800204
any recommendation on where to look for parts?
>>31800077
Smith & Wesson M&P-15 + magazines
Ruger AR556 + magazines
Colt Expanse + magazines

The SKS has long since passed the point of being a solid choice as a newbie gun.
I mean it's a good rifle, but they're not $199 anymore, you're looking at twice that now. For just $600 or less you can get a new WASR or Yugo AK.
>>31800239
Brownell, PSA, Natchez, Midway USA...
There's only like 100,000,000,000 places to find AR parts these days.
>>31800350
But an SKS is going to be more accurate
>>31800350
still 200 bucks in canada friendo.
>>31800393
>This 2-4 MOA rifle is more accurate than this 2-4 MOA rifle
>>31800373
what about compatibility?
>>31800077
If you were in Canada, I'd suggest a CZ-858. You can get it in either 7.62x39 or .223. Accepts either clips or mags, so you can save money/weight/bulk by carrying half your ammo in mags and the other half in clips.
>>31800098
>>31800124
Or this. These are very valid options.
>>31800139
Fuckin' eh. Fun fact; you can carry as much ammo for an AR as you can with an SKS. 30-rnd STANAG mags weigh about as much as 3 10-rnd clips.
>>31800229
$400? Ouch... last I checked, they were approaching $250 in Canada. Granted that price is from about 4 years ago, but to my knowledge we're still importing SKS-45s here, so if the price has gone up at all, I can't see it having gone up MUCH. The market was, and should still be, quite flodded with SKSs. Same with SVT-40s.
>>31800455
Election prices in the U.S. that's why. Happens every time we get near a major election like this. It's made worse because Hildogg is actively going after the second amendment, so prices are climbing exponentially.
>>31800469
well if war breaks out i doubt it will that hard to get a gun.
i was gonna buy a new computer but fuck all that.
>>31800469
I see, well there are two things to do; buy firearms/ammo, and vote for anyone but Hillary. Personally, if I were American, I'd go for Trump. Dude's insane, but doesn't give a fuck about political correctness, which is what the US and the world needs. Also, as that one actor from Midnight Cowboy said (ashamed that I can't recall his name), he's from 'outside the system'. I guess that's kind of a 'tinfoil hat' thing to say, but I believe there's some truth in those words, and they're words worth considering.
I think Bernie Sanders is the most sane and probably the BEST candidate to choose... but let's be real... he's being COMPLETELY shadowed by the massive Trump and Hillary Clinton names. A vote for Sanders is a wasted vote, because sadly, only Trump or Hillary will win... just don't let it be Hillary, or the US will quickly find itself in even worse shape than under either Bush j.r. or Obama.
>>31800525
I'm not gonna waste my gas going to vote because my state always goes red anyways. Like, fuck man, it's Texas. NO ONE could vote and it'd still go red.
>>31800586
If I recall correctly, Bush j.r. got elected a second time by a VERY slim margin. How would you like it if Hillary beat Trump by a VERY slim margin? Every vote counts, but sure, let the US burn. I'll just keep roasting smores from across the border. I tell you this though, I went through Hell to get my vote in for Conservative in the last election. Yeah, sadly, the Liberals won, but I'm still glad I got my vote in. I made my say. I did my part. If you had any pride for your nation, you'd do yours.

>>31800453
Nobody gives a fuck about Cuckada.
>>31800525
Sanders is no longer a candidate, syrup fag.
>>31800077
Buy 5 mosins
>>31800450
AR-15 has become standardized thanks to the M16/m4 being adopted by the military. It is hard to find a company who doesn't keep to at least the milspec.
>>31801046
kek
>>31800469
I'm sorry but these prices currently are nothing like the sandy vagina situation
>>31801143
Yeah, that was fun. I bought an AR the month before that happened coincidentally, got lucky on that one.
