if I grab a soup can, assume my preferred shooting stance (weaver) and try to hold it steady for as long as I can with one eye closed, will it improve my results as a shooter? I say a soup can because it's heavier than my gun.

how about you hold some free weights.
>>31792072
tie the soupcan/watterbottle/whatever to the front of you gun with string
hold stance as long as you can
>>31792072
10lb weight. Do it until you can't anymore then move to a 5lb weight. Once you can't lift your arms hammer out some pushups.
>>31792137
that doesn't make any sense, those are two different muscle groups you're working out. also static hold exercises don't really do anything.
>>31792156
There is never a good enough excuse to avoid pushups.
Keep both eyes open when shooting, faggot
>>31792171
So why not just do pushups?
>>31792072
>With one eye closed
I found your problem OP
Open your other eye when you're shooting

> Static hold exercises don't really do anything
If we're talking off hand on a rifle, it's pure endurance, which isometric will build. I've yet to find much of a free weight exercise that let's me shoot offhand for extended sessions without my arm getting tired.
>>31792190
I close one eye when shooting, even trap/skeet.
>>31792215
Because the more tired your arms are the more you can appreciate pushups.

>Arm

How to build finger mass
>/k/ can't into /fit/
