What.is the RuAF truly worth against say Armee de.l'air or the RAF?

In.theory they have like tenfold the number of planes but half.of these are soviet era trash at least. The SU35 isn't half bad but they only have a few dozens of it (compared to 150 rafales for France).
Russia has amazing anti-air systems, but if we talk only airforce is the superior quality enough to take down the swarms of old MIGs it can field?

It is also my understanding that Russia has focused on anti-air missiles capabilities like the S200 to compensate the fact.they were getting behind in air superiority.

The SAM systems is an intresting thing. Most of them is organic to the Army or in the case of long range systems, still organized in the PVO style defence doctrine. They would most likely not be deployed away from Russia.

A lot of russian jets these days has one or two displays, however they are of worse quality than those in western jets.

That said a pilot with older instruments can in theory preform just as good, its just a bit harder. More important factors is the superior western radars and communication systems.

One thing to consider is that Russia's tanker fleet is not that big compared to their aircraft, and quite a few of their aircraft (eg MiG-29) have quite short legs.

If considering France + UK Vs Russia air fight, consider how many aircraft Russia would actually be able to get all the way to Western Europe at any one time.
