Just bought my first ever raifu today. WASR-10 for $600. The sights don't look canted, the bolt was nice and smooth, and the only negative side I really noticed was one of the rivets was slightly indented above the mag well. Overall, it feels and looks like a pretty decent first purchase. Anything I should keep in mind/look for before I go break it in? Can provide pics if needed.
>>
>>31789569

LGS in Bellevue Washington. Was the last one they had and the owner hooked me up with an offer I couldn't turn down. $600 cash and it was mine. Grabbed the gun and 2 extra mags for shits and giggles.

That's the one. Every time I go, they are more than willing to hook me up with a deal. Last time I was there I got an 18 round mag for my M9 not knowing they had a 30 round. For that price you can get a WASR or Yugo, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're sold out pretty much everywhere this close to the election. And after the election you can expect some serious price-gouging.

I doubt this will get traction for the following reasons.
The Right will ignore it because he isn't Muslim.
The Left will ignore it because he isn't white.

Toss in the fact that no little white children were hurt so it's a story that's going nowhere. Note: I'm not saying I support or condone this, it's a tragedy.

The only bad thing I've heard about DDI is from people here saying they've heard things. That and the (rare) actual issue that is inevitable with any production rifle, but those just turn until stories about how great DDI's customer service is.

Arsenal only made like 2000 of these rifles and there are tons of people online complaining of various problems, plus however many people had problems who didn't post about them online, it's a fairly infamous model. At one point an online retailer was selling them for $500 each because they could hardly give the damn things away.

Lee Armory can't even do rivets right half the time.

The reason you wont find anything about how dogshit their builds are is because people generally post about them on AKFiles, and Lee Armory is a vendor there and gets them deleted.

On that note the differences between AKFiles and Barfcom blurs slightly every day.

You're welcome to post it after the OP, but I like to keep the OP clutter free.
Plus that "guide" will be wrong in a couple weeks.
>Oh look it's already wrong, since WASRs are $6-700 currently as are NPAPs. OPAPs are gone, and are commanding a much higher price on the secondary market from what I've seen.

There's a reason those "guides" never last.
There was another one that someone tried to make and it was just as flawed.
It lasted about 3 weeks before it stopped being posted.
The AK market is way too volatile to make a comprehensive list.
>>
>>31791590
The rifles you want to avoid have poor CQ. If the receiver doesn't fall apart in your hands from poor rivet work on the trunions then you'll likely see a warp or bad Bolt-Carrier Group, or even a broken front sight post.

If you're the same guy asking about the C39v2 I'd still avoid it regardless of it being milled. Most guys who have one say the receiver is "somewhat" solid but the Bolt-Carrier Group is still soft and they usually replace it with a Romanian or Bulgarian compatible one. That alone adds another $150-200 to the rifle itself.
>>
>>31791612

>Thanks, What makes a WASR-10 different from other aks?
It's an AKM with no dimples normally found on standard AKs. The Romanians instead use weld points similar to the RPK in manufacturing other than that its a standard AKM.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2-7wvIQHFY

Alternatively you can go with the RH10 which is a Romanian variant with the Gas-Block and Front Sight post separate.

Kek, no.
I don't care about "credit", or I would've adopted a trip a long time ago.
These threads aren't for me, they're for you guys.

It's a vain and futile attempt at listing rifles that may be gone from the market tommorrow.
Or when QC takes a nose dive and those are still touted as great and vice versa.

So like I said, feel free to post them.

You can make whatever suggestions you want but the bottom line is that OP has been making 98% of these threads for hundreds of threads now. It's honestly a pretty big dedication and I think he's earned the ability to call his own shots. Truthfully when I made the suggestion to start numbering threads it actually made me a little bit nervous because I didn't want to step on OP's turf.

And this can need to be done at any time of the day.

I've been making them just fine and will continue to do so.
You're welcome to post it in the thread or not, I just won't include it in the OP, because of the nature of those lists being outdated almost as soon as they're made.

It's OUR turf though, and I thought it was a pretty neat idea.

If enough people thought it was a comprehensive enough list, I'd consider it.

So I bought a 2015 production WASR a couple of days ago for $499 plus tax (suck it) and the front sight post is canted, no biggie.

So today I lubed that bitch up with wd40 and clp, knocked the pins out, put it in a vice, hit it with a hammer a bit,and torqued the everloving fuck out of it to a point where I thought if i went any further id bend the fuckin barrel. It didnt move at all, all pins out, no taper pin, no other weird bullshit holding it on other than sheer will and romanian donkey jizz or whatever they use before they press it onto the barrel.

When the AKM was actually being produced by Russia it was extremely uncommon to find one with a side rail because the only optics they used were night vision optics. At that time the design was still really unrefined and was held on with screws that were pinned captive all old fashioned like. It's actually considered an entirely different variant, the AKMN.

Sam7R would be cool too. I used to have a boner for the UF but now not really. I just think it would be a cool gun. The quality from both are the same. Depends entirely on what I'm doing with the rifle.

I like it because it reminds me of the SAW grip on my old AK. I guess if I started off with the normal style AK grip I would have preferred that instead.

Tempe my nig. We should go shooting sometime.

My WASR-10 keeps having problems. Either it will catch the shell before it can exit the chamber and get stuck or it won't pull the round from the barrel and a new round will jam up the gun. Do I just need to clean and lube my gun?
>>
>>31793825
is that just a standard 4 piece Bulgarian flash hider?
>>
>>31794073
No
>>
>>31794067
Sounds like the extractor is gummed up. Take apart the bolt and clean everything really well.
>>
Picture this with a drum. It's arousing me.
>>
>>31794067
Extraction issues, could be an issue with your extractor, check for chips. Could be an issue with the barrel chamber, check for burrs, check the spent casings for signs of gouging from a burr.

Still on the hunt for a 7.62 caliber AK fixed stock with wood furniture at or below $1K, optionally with bayonet lug, optic mounting rail on receiver or other reasily available modifications (trigger, iron sight replacement, furniture replacement, etc.). Some have recommended the WASR-10/63 in the past as a good sub $1K wood AK, anyone care to argue or agree?

I ordered a milled DDI yesterday before the site went down (paid too much but free shipping yay), so I say you should join in on that when the site is back.

I live inbetween Bumfuck and Egypt (Utah) in a town in the desert. Probably my only option would be driving 4 hours to the capital or 2 hours to Vegas to find a gun store with it in stock. Or buy online. What do?
>>31795091
I've heard DDI was good but always out of stock and site is ass. Last I checked none of their models had wood furniture. Do they now, or is it possible to replace the stock and foregrip?
>>
>>31795183
online will be your best bet. just send it to your closest ffl and look at the transfer fee a a convenience charge.
>>
>>31795073
Yeah, gonna be a bit hard right now, not just because of the election, but I believe most 7.62 production from Arsenal & Zastava are going to the war zones. I think.. don't quote me, but 7.62 AK's are in short supply all around.

Atlantic Firearms has their Romy battlefield pick up AK's right now. In fact, just go to AF & see what they have, great place to order from.

Do all russian plum and bakelite grips have mold numbers on them?
Asking because I bought some '''Rusian'''' plum and bakelite grips and they have no mold numbers on them. Starting to think they might be from some other country.

>>31796851
