Got a Ruger Mark IV today, went to take the stupid ambi safety

I've stripped out a good 3 screws on my scout rifle as well as it rusting with oil applied and the shiny fish wearing off. Ruger has gone down hill

How did it strip? Did you cross-thread it and damage the threads, did the head break off, or is the screw still in and the hex-head surface just rounded out? If the latter, it's probably because it had a loc-tite compound applied to the threads that you should have heated up before trying to put muscle into it.

The head is rounded out, the problem is that I didn't even put any muscle in it, I barely got half a turn with the wrench and it just started rotating freely. I tried three different wrenches all to the same effect.

Did you strip the threads on the screw or the frame?

Either way, drill teh holes bigger and tap it for a different screw. Buy an assortment of screws and keep them labeled in bins.
