I've been meaning to pick up a 38 snub for a while (S&W 642 if it matters); right now they're around $400-ish

But I keep putting it off and bulk-buying 223/556 etc instead (I set aside X amount each month for funs).

So I guess my question is, am I thinking about this the right way ?

(get the snub later as they probably wont be affected as much by panic buying / availability / price increases etc)

I'd say that .38 ammo, while maybe more scarce, didn't have a lot of price gouging similar to what you saw happen to 9mm or .223.

You saw some retards (Cheaper Than Dirt) make everything they sold much more expensive, but I'd say you're thinking about it the right way in that .38 ammo and revolvers are less likely to be affected.
