What's a good bolt action rifle chambered in 5.56?

I'm looking for something reliable that can shoot 5.56 and .223 besides an AR
>>
Mossberg MVP LR, Tikka T3, CZ

I've heard issues with the MVP on accuracy though.
>>
>>31768381
I really like the little CZ, seems like a decent little rifke
>>
>>31768381
I shoot milsurp 55gr and 62gr FMJ/FMJ-P 5,56 and all sorts of .223 Rem in my CZ527 Varmint. Works great.
>>
What's the point? Just spend the money on getting your AR to shoot 1 MOA.
>>
>>31768663
Not sure why OP wants one, but I have a blast with mine. .223 is so cheap running trough a bolt action.
>>
Steyr Scout
>>
Idk about 5.56 but Savage Axis II .223 is good if you're a poorfag.
>>
>>31768663
Hey faggot

You don't need a reason to buy a gun in America, last I checked.

How about you go fuck yourself.
>>
>>31768381
The CZ is beautiful, really nice fit and finish and an outstanding trigger.
Every mvp I've handled was loose butthole. They felt like their price reflected their quality.
>>
Lithgow LA102.
>>
>>31768764
I agree but that's kinda pricey for the average person who wants a fun dick around with it kind of rifle.
>>
>>31768663
>Why buy anything but AR15s????

God you kids get annoying
>>
>>31768381
>>31768584
I have an MVP. haven't shot it much, but from forums accuracy isn't the issue, some minor QC and cheaping out on components is. Plastic magwell for example, can be switched out. The bolt isn't threaded, and is friction fitted and spot welded - my biggest gripe with the gun.

>>31768584
MVP a shit, yo. Those folk who talked about issues weren't lying.

>>31768381
CZ 527 is what I'd recommend. Taking over for my .22, it took me from liquidating prairie dogs to liquidating prairie dogs with extreme prejudice.

Pic ain't mine, but still purdy.
>>
>>31768893
These rifles are awesome. I have no real use for one but I shot my friends and the set trigger on it made me want to cry after getting my ruger precision rifle.
>>
I was debating switching my Savage 10 to a .223 from .308, Then again I was thinking about doing a 6.5x47 build, so I might just be crazy.

> Will probably stick with .308

That all being said, Any good loads for the .223 that folks like shooting out to 600 yards? Maybe even the .204?
>>
>>31768381
Savage 10
You can get them used for cheap at pawn shops
Very underrated rifle, plus you can always change the caliber with a barrel swap if you ever get bored with it.
>>
>>31769003
That's not all that's required for a caliber change.
>>
>>31768995
I'm changing my 110 from 30-06 to 6.5x55.
Most people where I live are fudds and think I'm stupid because "30-06 is all you need for anything"
>>
>>31769062
>tfw australian fudds use 6.5x55 all of the time
>>
>>31769062
I've honestly not played with the 6.5 enough to judge it yet, personally, So i've been wanting to, cost is the only thing stopping me, I've heard people do some pretty neat shit with the 77 gr .223's and considering the cost of good brass vs good brass for that or the lap, i'm torn.

What made you go 6.5x55 ?
>>
>>31768381
how bad does having irons on the barrel affect your precision anyway?
>>
>>31769089
I always liked the 6.5 since I got a Swedish Mauser.
It's a very underrated cartridge in the us since it will take most game. It has a great ballistic coefficient, wide range of bullet weighs, known for accuracy, and my grandpa had a Husqvarna in 6.5x55 he loved to hunt.

I wouldn't think very much if it was done properly, If it needed a castle nut or something to attach it , it could wobble and fuck up hermonics' but that's just me talkin' out my ass.

Fair answer, I shall add it to the list of considerations.

Hard to imagine, but then again most things are that way for you.

He will end up wanting one/more. It's what happens to all of us who aren't autists or poorfags. And of course some of us who are.

>>
>>31769392

Don't get me wrong, man, I love my AR so much. Favorite gun, and I got a safe full of all kinds, but some folks just don't want any.

One of my best friends collects shotguns, his cheapest shotgun is like 800 bucks. Other than that, he owns one hunting rifle and two revolvers for carry.

If he buys more guns, he says they'll be for CAS.

I have tried to sell him on it, and he's not anti-gun. Just doesn't want one.

Folks are strange, my dude.

I'm sorry I insulted you in my previous comment, that was wrong of me.
>>
>>31768381

MVP is awsome at accuracy. I got one and the first 5 shot group I got at 100 yards with Federal Premium match 69gr was 1/2".

It shoots all loads great. Even the cheap shit that does 3" out of my nice ARs will do 1.5" out of it.

>>
>>31769504
It's all good my dude. Usually people who want an accurate .223/5.56 can get that in an AR package with more practicality than a bolt setup. I was afraid to want one at one point as well.
>>
>>31769559
Why do you feel the need to belittle fellow enthusiasts?
>>
>>31769392
I'm not the guy you're talking to or the one you're talking about, but I have no interest in owning an AR. I've shot plenty of them, I think they're cool and shit, but to me they're just not that fun to shoot.
>>
>>31769649
The only thing AR15 owners are enthusiasts of is type 2 diabetes and sucking cock.
>>
>>31769673
And a bolt action is more fun to shoot? How hard is it for you to get laid?
>>

Fucking kek.
>>
>>31769752

>>
>>31769946

>>
>>31769625

Eh, some people want the simplicity of a bolt, the feeling of working the bolt, that sniper feeling ballparking a round into a playing card at 300 and then working the bolt.

Lot of cool factor for cheap with a bolt.

Yup. Working the bolt after every shot and putting each bullet exactly where you want it is way more fun than just pulling the trigger over and over. Also faggit pls. I get da poon.

>a whole bottle of solvent dumped into them to run
Is this supposed to be a meme
>>
>>31770513
I was going to ask the same thing. ARs have been proven to be as or more reliable than AKs

With about 3x effective range thrown in as a bonus
>>
>>31768584

I've got the MVP Predator in 7.62 Nato (it actually says that on the barrel).

Took my first deer with it this month.
Short barrel, loves 150gn projectiles loaded hot.

Takes multiple kinds of military 7.62 mags, including M14 and AR10 styles. Solid rifle.
>>
>>31768853
>Nobody else said this

Can Americans not even buy them or something?
They completely shit on everything else short of $3k.

Howa makes a .223 bolt action that's cheaper than it's Remington competitor and arguably more reliable.
>>
>>31769293
how about wanting a more accurate gun.

how about becoming a better marksman?
>>
CZ 527
Remington 700P

My LTR in .223 kicks ass.
>>
>>31771103
Instead of wasting your money on some shitty bolt gun, you could spend the money on a proper AR barrel.
>>
>>31770087

I love to beat off, if that's what ya mean. I try and spank the crank 3-5 times a day, unless I plan on getting laid. Then I dial back to once, hours beforehand so that I can still shoot something off worth talking about.

And now you know my masturbation habits.
>>
>>31771033
I'm stuck between a Howa in .223 or a Ruger American, can't decide
>>
>>31768995

Dumb

>thinking about doing a 6.5x47 build
Smart

Go to Cabelas and buy a savage 12fv... 26" varmint barrel, accutrigger, and dirt cheap... Better start reloading though, normal 223 is going to be kind of boring.
>>
>>31771161
so you have to buy an AR to become a better marksman ? wtf,

HOWA 1500 mini action. Purpose built for smaller rounds like .223, 7.62x39 and 6.5 Grendel. Lighter and smoother than your generic "short action rifles
>>
>>31771430
bad sperg, bad!

An AR is usually more accurate than it's operator. Same with your hurrrr sniper fantasy bolt guns
>>
>>31768952
I've got the .22 CZ, 452. It's fucking beautiful to shoot.

Kinda picky on ammo though.
>>
>>31769293

I've always wondered if exclusively wanting a bolt rifle was a symptom of complete antisocial tendencies well past the autism spectrum. I now have my answer.
