Personally I love lever actions. I don't think there are really any restrictions on them in Commiefornia IIRC. At this point with all of the hoops you have to jump through I wouldn't even bother with an AR. Bolt action milsurp is cheap as well (nugget, mauser, etc)

Hey OP, 19 year old commiefornian here. I've been in your shoes for about a year, I own a couple guns now, but I've come away with a few tips.

Don't even bother with an AR. They're not even fucking worth it. If you really want one in this cuck state buy a stripped lower or 80% it and fast.

Also, I made the mistake of wanting a different gun every month. This does not help your bank account at all.
Think of two guns you know you'd really want. I'd suggest one rifle, and one shotgun.
Also, decide on what type of rifle you want, more so than the shotgun. Do you want lever action? Bolt? Semi? What caliber?

Onto caliber. Decide what calibers you want and buy them NOW. It may seem backward, but we have a short time until gunmagedon in Jan. So go out and pick up all the ammo you can muster by Dec. 31.

For my rifle suggestions go with any of these: Mossberg MVP .308 or 5.56, savage axis, ruger mini 14, ruger Gunsite in .308 or 5.56, ruger American ranch rifle, ruger 10/22, savage model 64, Yugo mauser.

For shotguns: Maverick 88/ mossberg 500, Remington 870, Stevens model 320, or those Dickinson shotguns at big 5

They're not insanely cheap, but they don't require an FSC, or an FFL transfer.

They can ship right to your door. And you can make black powder on your own.
