It's not worth the trouble to join a militia right now. Unless you grew up with people in it or know someone already in one what's the point? Are they active enough to react to a federal martial law? most would say no OP OPSEC will save you when the feds go head hunting for organized resistance and label your militia as a "terror group" but the only terror group are the feds.. It's ok to post some of your capabilities and hobbies online its an entirely different matter what you "claim " your plans or "ideals" are.

Did the states ever have organized, standing militias when the country was in its infancy? Did they simply dwindle out and die to the point they're primarily composed of moldy labia tinfoil donners and alphabet soup agency members?

Eh, was going to see if i could one going with a group of friends and family, but after seeing how the Michigan militia divebombed, it kinda turned me off to doing one "officially". Now instead of calling it a militia. it's just the dudes you usually take to the range and do the occasional 3 gun for funsies.

To be honest, i really just don't want the ATF, FBI, CIA, LGBT and the BBC all honeypotting my picnics.
