After hearing Trump admit he's doing to be stirring up sedition, I'm thinking about buying a gun (and no, I was never against gun ownership in the first place). What's a reasonably priced, reliable handgun for personal defense?

glock 18

Aren't Glocks supposed to be unreliable?
First gun should be something you can batter and beat and not waste too much money on.
Get a Smith and Wesson sd9ve. Can find them for about $340. They are a Glock clone for half the price. They actually have to pay Glock like $15 per sold gun because it's an exact replica.

Yeah pretty unreliable

only the early .40s. Its where the glocknade meme came from.

Is there like a bottom limit? Like, is there price below which if you buy a gun you're just asking for it to break or blow up in your hand?
>>31747193
hipoint would be a bare minimum roughly 150

I admit, I only know that from the memes. Other than that, I did listen to an interview of this guy who wrote a book on Glock, who was apparently an Austrian shower curtain manufacturer.

Alright, that's not too bad, I could probably do 200. I'd feel weird buying something I probably won't use for more. Though maybe I could take up hunting if I bought a rifle.

There are cheap guns that are extremely good. Then you have some expensive guns that are garbage. Do your research before buying any gun. >>31747137
That is a really good gun. If you want to concealed carry then get a Ruger Lcp custom. You CAN get the regular Lcp but the trigger is really bad and the sights are unusable. The custom is about $25 more but it has good sights and a great trigger.

hi point is an outlier though realistically its 300 for a new gun that works
>>31747257
Don't buy a Hipoint. Those are for people who CAN'T afford better, not cheapskates.

This is good advice.
It's better to get a reasonably prices but well made gun that will last you a long time than some garbage hipoint.
I recommend the Ruger SR-9. I has a 17+1 capacity for 9mm and has much more safety features than a Glock. Trigger feels excellent on it too.
