I recommend that you first buy a full size pistol, practice a whole lot with it, and get good at handling it confidently and safely before you start carrying.

You can find police trade in Glock 19s online for cheap. 300-400 bucks. I recommend buying one of those to learn on then shopping for a compact pistol to conceal carry. Learning to shoot on a compact pistol sucks. And conceal carrying a full size pistol does too.

I'm currently an Anthropology, sub-discipline Archaeology, major at Cal State Fullerton and I can confirm that gender is a concept mostly inspired through social or cultural means whereas sex is strictly biological in origin. There are only two sexes, male or female for the laymen, but it really only comes down to chromosomes. These sexes are really just XY or XX whereas other conditions can occur such as Klinefelter's Syndrome where a person has XXY chromosomes.

Gender could be anything really from Transgender individuals in the United States, Canada, Brazil, and most of Europe to the fa'afafine of the Samoan islands to the hijra of South East Asia.

The only blur between these two terms is based on the knowledge we didn't previously know and there isn't really any interception.

I've been lurking and asking questions as well as I'm going to be going for my first firearm as well. I have a veteran friend who is going to teach me about gun care and the basics of shooting using her two guns but when it comes to finding my first gun I'm in a similar boat to you. After probing around on here I learned some gun ranges rent handfunz( Mine charges $15 for a day and ammo not included ) and I'd recommend googling gun ranges in your county or state.

I had originally been here asking for a list of what I should try and the population here was nice. They told me to rent whatever seemed to catch my eye and try it out. You want whatever you buy to not only work for you but also be fun for you as you'll have to spend time at the range breaking-in your new handfun in addition to practicing with it regularly. I'd bet the clerk at your nearest range would be happy to help give you some recommendations if you describe what you are looking for but don't be afraid to just try something off the shelf.
