Why do people still pay for gun oil when 3 in 1 is cheaply available

3-in-1 is shit for guns. Parts of it evaporate removing the corrosion protection. The parts that don't end up becoming a crud that gums things up worse than cosmoline. The bottles with the straw also leak through capillary action even with the cap on.

This. I've been shooting 20+ years and I've never used anything else. "gun oil" is a scam.

You can buy gun oil or grease that works well for like 20 bucks a year. Why try to save 10 bucks a buy a product that was not meant for that? Do you also eat grass and sawdust to save on food?
