Riddle me this faggots: if AK-47 is supposedly the best firearm, why doesn't the US military use it?
>>
Because it's not the best firearm.

>>31719910
Because of the Cold War probably.
>>
Because the US military is fucking retarded and would rather spend tons of money on a gun that is a sack of shit.

The US has never made a good weapon beyond the 1911 and the M1
>>
>>31719935
Which M1?
>>
>>31719910
Because the US military wants to use a less lethal caliber to wound combatants, like the 5.56 round.
>>
>>31719944
The Garand. The tank couldn't fight a T-72 to save its life.
>>
>>31719910
Overpenetration mainly, U.S. troops don't regularly go up against enemies with access to body armor so a lighter and more versatile round is the better choice
>>
>>31719910
Because it did not use 22 rounds we all know is super deadly since they will penetrate the body and bounce around doing super damage.

It also had a inferior clip compared to the american em-sixteeeen which also has a shoulder thing that goes up which is super good for accuracy

Nice fudd impression
>>
The US special force and Navy SEAL does use it, just not for the plebs.
>>
>>31719910
Pride dude.
You're going into the cold war, are you going to use the other guy's weapon or are you going to make your own because fuck everyone else?

Realistically the AK was never adopted because it was and is the weapon of the enemy. Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, the AK is the American killer.

M4s are pretty okay design, their flaws being direct impingement is a dirty system that requires maintenance, but because our military isn't a bunch of sand Nigger dipshits, we can get around that problem.

The SCAR is honestly probably the weapon of the future. It out performs the m4 and AK and it will probably be adopted once it's made cheaper. But because it's at a price that costs more than 4 or 5 m4s, it won't be adopted soon.
>>
>>31720041
Finland has no such problem.

Even the jews use Mauser K98.
>>
>>31720022
Really? I thought it was more "anti-gun" style since the "shoulder thing" and super deadly etc.

>>31720067
>Korea
>AK
No, that is completely wrong. The enemy had mosins and "burp guns", a strange slang for a ppsh-41 due to its high rate of fire and the sound it makes.
>>
because the AK-47 is outdated and has been since the AKM was made. Also AK-74 > AKM

the M16 got developed this way because of politics and money. Mikhail Kalashnikov wasn't rewarded with money, he was rewarded with the status of being a hero. Few Americans actually know the name Eugene Stoner, but he got rich from his design. the Soviet Union and the United States are very different countries. you could ask the same question about many rifles, but the US is probably not going to change its service rifle for many years

sorry if this makes no sense, I haven't slept in a couple days
>>
You know is it an actually good question. AK-47 was actually mainstream in the Soviet Armed Forces by 1949 meanwhile we were still using Garands. By the time we were getting first versions of the M14 they already had AKMs....

The day those patents expire and I can get a third-party SCAR will be a good day. Nothing against FN, but I'm poor and would kill for a cheaper version of the SCAR to hit the market.
